Customer Review

I would rate these as the best trail running shoes I've ever owned, and I've gone through plenty in my time. I'm always searching for something that promotes good, efficient running style and the "barefoot" nature of the heel and arch support absolutely delivers. The grip from the soles is frankly amazing - gritty downhills, muddy bogs, stony lanes even rock scrambling are all catered for. Never slipped or had my confidence tested - these trail runners perform.

I tend to run with SealSkinz socks so I can splash through rivers and mud without my feet getting wet. Combined with the Trail Glove 5 it's a match made in heaven. Lightweight and efficient at squeezing out the water my socks and shoes are mostly dry within 200 metres or so. This gives me the confidence to just have at the obstacle without worrying about picking my way around.

In terms of sizing they can be a little tight with thicker socks (like the SealSkinz) so I opted for the next size up and found it to be perfect. I'm a UK 8/ EU 42 so went for the size 9. My feet swell during exercise and I've not experienced any issues with tightness or slippage.

Edit after 1100km of hard trails, wading through rocky streams and occasional long roads...

Well, my poor Glove 5s have finally started to show some proper wear and tear. Holes have appeared in the netting between the side straps and the sole has lost much of its tread. I could probably still keep going with them until they simply fell apart but I think they've done enough and deserve a well-earned retirement.

And now to award the highest compliment: I'm going to purchase another pair. They're that good.
