Customer Review

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 July 2020
My old Merrell bare access trainers (see picture - orange sole) are wearing out and I'm looking for a replacement. The Trail Glove 5 shoes looked ideal; they are a snug fit, but it is noticable that both the forefoot and heel areas are much narrower in comparison to my older trainers.

The reason I'm returning them, however, is Merrell's introduction of completely unnecessary arch support. This places far too much upward pressure on my foot's arches and is so uncomfortable that I didn't want to wear the shoes for longer than a few minutes.

I'm disappointed that Merrell appear to have overlooked the whole point of barefoot style shoes, which is to provide a thin protective layer around your foot's natural shape. Arch support will NEVER be a feature that I require in a barefoot shoe.
