Not waterproof!

It says they're waterproof (even in the title); they aren't. Enough reason for rating 1 star and report.
First time I took these to a hike in the mountains when snowy my feet got wet and my toes frozen every 30 min. Another friend had actual waterproof shoes and he didn't have that problem.
Also they leak water in pretty easily.
Besides that, quality and durability seem good.

I have purchased 5 or 6 pairs of Merrill shoes in the past and have always been very satisfied. These shoes were too small (width) as I have to wear a leg brace on one leg and a lift in the other shoe.

Incorrect description on the site - the color that you see you this image is not what gets to you.. Its called walnut here but should be called 'earth'.
I tried the exact the size in the store and when I got the same size - its about a half size smaller!!!!

The old Moab (not the Moab 2) was considerably wider. If you have a wide foot and you like the "old" Moab you may not like the Moab 2.

With the exact same sizes of Moab vs. Moab 2, the Moab is wider and more comfortable.

My Moab 2s aren't nearly as comfortable as my Moabs due to the 2 being narrower.

UPDATE,
The shoes are falling apart after only two months. They look new but the soles are coming off. These are junk compared to my old Moabs (NOT the 2). Stay away from Merrell. They went down the tubes IMO. VERY DISAPPOINTED. :(

Crazy uncomfortable heel stitch!!!

Okay, I REALLY wanted to like these shoes. I’ma huge Merrell fan, I’ve had several great pairs from them before, and I got these for a great price here on the ‘zon.

BUT, I just can’t give them more than a single star. I bought these for a cross country move (Florida -> Washington State) in January. There are VERY waterproof and snow proof. However, there is a seam line/stitch line that sits directly behind my heel that is LITERALLY TORTURE. I’ve never had a hiking shoe (Keen, Salomon, Merrell, etc) or running shoe (Nike, Brooks, Adidas, Rebok, Saucony, etc) that ever placed a protruding stitch right in the pressure point area of the heel cup.

It’s absolutely the most uncomfortable shoe I’ve ever worn that fit me properly in every other way. Hands down. Huge lose. Can’t say how much lose this is. Both heels are bruised from this stitch and I’ve only done about 2000 miles of driving (1000 to go). These are my only waterproof shoes so I’m forced to wear them.

I have a pair of Salomon Xa 3D pro shoes with quick lace (also bought here on Amazon) that are VASTLY more comfortable and I’ve actually elected to allow my feet to get wet just so I didn’t have that heel stitch pressing into both feet.

It doesn’t appear to be a defect and the insoles have great comfort. The outsoles have great grip. They even look great. But they’re getting trash binned as soon as my move through winter weather is done. I’ve owned them for just over a week.

I received them just prior to my move and could not return them. So I’ve used them a lot. And this means that whatever break in period existed is just gone (the rest of the shoe is actually very comfortable).

Huge swing and miss from Merrell.

To be fully honest, If I could return these, I would go but the gore tex version of my Salomons.
