Amazing!

I thought this was great and even better than season one! I loved how it stuck to the core elements of the Eagle Strike book whilst also mixing it up to make it fresh - it was very enjoyable and the cast is amazing! Looking forward to Season 3!

Enjoyed the second season!

As a lover of the books growing up, I'm enjoying the differences and the creative choices they have made with the tv show. Unlike the movie, which had too much of a childish, slapstick comic vibe I did not rate, this adaptation has the balance pretty much right. Solid serious drama with layers of humor and character. There are still a few over dramatised childish moments "look what I can do" moments, a few cringey lines that seem to pitch to a children's audience, but its all forgiven as the majority of the show is very good indeed. Will be waiting for a series three, assumedly based on Scopia, as so far we have had point-blank and now eagle strike. My favourite character in Alex rider has always been the mysterious Yassen, and we seem to have a good focus on him in the adaptation, which is, I will admit, a very happy surprise. Would recommend as easy enjoyable watching!

Great show has its downsides but not many!

Now where do i start the series manages to keep myself as an adult glued to the screen same with my son so the director of this show should be proud i get bored easily. Whilst i would have liked to have seen a scene like we had with season one that made me feel like it was a young james bond who dident give a s**t about rules and did some incredible daring stunts that was a shame but the acting on this lads part was brilliant.

The rest of the original cast were on point as well i am looking forward providing amazon dosent cancel the show to see where this show will lead. Now the fact they kept the show available for most ages means they had to limit a lot of things within the show which is understandable but the way they portrayed the show means i some how forgot that it was for teens. So whilst i would have like more crazy action like season 1 i feel as though that there wasent anything else wrong in fact im excited because i think the following season might show Alex becoming a more aggressive agent.

Now for these .....individuals who complain over the adverts at the start of each episode i say stop complaining because you dont know what the pain of adverts are until you have watched Anime on crunchyroll or funimation when i see my son watching anime most times i see adverts 23 minute episode with 3/4 sets of adverts lasting anywhere from 1 minute to 2:45 so stop crying! Where as amazons adverts last maybe 30 seconds at the start and no interruption's of the episodes.

Didn't you get enough of a budget this time?

I put it 4 star as I am a big fan of the books but this season didn't give it justice, it left out huge chunks of the story which makes me feel like there wasn't as much funding this time round for season 2.

I grew up reading the books at school and loved it, took me to a whole new world where I could imagine myself as Alex Rider as we were the same age at the time!
Although I liked the story I felt this season didn't hit the way the first season did, everything felt cheap and rushed, not much character developement.. i felt disengaged like there was no passion behind the making of it. And so i want this to do well! An example of this was (SPOILERS) one of the main parts of the book didn't make it into the season where Alex gets thrown into a real version of the game. Even when Alex did the run through of the game it was meant to be him as the character going through the aztec world not just some holograms to shoot at round the room so that was cheaped out on, in fact not much of the book was in the season at all, just the bare fragments of the story.

If somehow anyone who produced it reads this then please don't feel the need to bring it up to date, the books are special, bring back the gadgets, bring back the details of the story especially for Season 3 which will be on the Scorpia book! If any of you are fans you know how important Scorpia is to the whole book series! Whatever funding you need just take your time and do it in the right way I beg because the detail in the next book I feel is crucial to the development of Alex so it needs all the things that happen in the book to happen on screen and what we find out about Scorpia too.

Please do Scorpia justice.

A good adaptation, even if much was changed

I enjoyed the show a lot, though you should not go into it expecting a very faithful adaptation. As with last series, it removes some of the iconic yet goofier scenes like the Alex in the real video game levels, Roper's death via the moneybox, and Alex's bike chase through Amsterdam.

The story in general I think was better than the books though, and the rapport between Alex and Tom is great - the scenes of them at school feel so real as someone from the UK. Cray strikes the right balance of disarming yet menacing, and Mrs Jones stands out as a good character willing to stand up to Blunt. I wish Smithers was more true to his book character, but divorcing him from the books let him stand fine on his own merits, if a little duller.

I'm really enjoying season 2 of Alex rider. It does start off a bit slow, but it builds up as the episodes progess. It's a good adaptation of the books - enough context and backstory to keep the original audience hooked, but adapted for today's viewers. The acting is better since season 1, and it feels like the show has found its feet. Plenty of Alex rider novels left to adapt - so hopefully more series!

Although the series is not very loyal to its source material, I still find it amazing, I like the link between the two seasons, the ascetics looks amazing, the plot is also great.
