Feel good factor film

I am 67 years old and have watched this film since I was quite small. Cannot remember since when but it still has the same impact upon me all these years later. I believe in angels. If you remember to stop and stare once in a while, amidst the hub bub of life, you shall surely gather the goodness that life has to offer.... you alone are responsible for your life and its fortune. BUT, treat it kindly and you shall be rewarded. Maybe not on earth, but surely, in heaven, where we all shall meet again. God Bless. xx

Misleading that the movie has been converted to colour

I absolutely love this movie and thats why i rented it, although the cover is in colour the movie is black and white. THE REASON i rented this movie os because of the cover being in colour, as i have the black and white version on cd. I WOULD NOT of rented if the cover was not in colour. I know there was a release with this movie converted in colour and that is the reason i wanted to watch it. i think since you have the cover in colour it is misleading

Fast delivery , , really love this film ( my fault , but having seen the colour front cover , and having read it was remastered I jumped to the conclusion , wrongly , that this was the remastered colour version , which it is not , but that was my mistake ) still great in the black and white though , and arrived well packed

Unfortunately with the listing on amazon for this film, every version seems to have the same description and be listed together with the same reviews, so you can't ever be sure what you're getting. I had hoped this would have the original gritty cinematic quality to it as it was a gift for my partmer and he loves the charm of it, but it turned out to be remastered B&W, which we already have. Still, he loved it and it did make for a perfect surprise gift.

For me, the greatest and darkest Christmas movie ever made: many remember it for the fairy-tale ending, but it spends the first 90 minutes vividly showing why a caring, loving family man would have a breakdown and decide it would have been better had he never been born...
This HD version is an excellent quality print but annoyingly is missing a few frames here and there so you get occasional jumps in the dialogue and action.

I must admit that when the little girl is practicing her piano piece I would have lost my rag long before George did! Overlong and dated but still a classic.

This updated version of the vintage classic lived up to my expectations.The acting, by Hollywood icons Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reid,was superb and the characters sprang to life before our eyes. In good old American fashion, the 'good guys' won in the end.

Corny, you say: yes but great entertainment. I spent a very pleasant snow-bound evening watching this classic in front of a blazing log fire and was transported back to hunky-dory land in small-town USA.

What a difference to the violent mediocrity we are subjected to these days.

Nostalgia rules OK....

Undoubtedly a great film. But I'm sorry Amazon, you're description and thumbprint are misleading. I expected the re-mastered COLOUR version of this movie - as shown in the thumbprint. State that it's the B&W version - or maybe let us choose.
