As general warm socks in the colder months, these are great. They're definitely NOT suitable for any kind of serious winter walking though and due to the material, you'd soon find yourself with sweaty and cold feet. They really should not be advertised as winter walking socks.

The first thing to note, these OUHOS walking socks are not the most technical socks you are going to find, no sign of Marino wool in these for example. However, at just under £20 for 5 pairs of walking socks, I am stunned by the quality (I would normally pay in the region of £15 just for one pair of walking socks).

I have tested these out on a hill walk in the Forest of Bowland AONB this weekend. The weather was mild for the time of year, but a little bit cooler on the top of the falls, and there was a little bit of drizzle rain. The socks performed really well. For a start, they are really comfortable, with the fabric being very soft, yet there is just the right amount of cushioning where you would expect (e.g. around the toes, over the top of the foot, and at the heel). The length of the socks is perfect, coming up to around the lower to mid-range of my calf muscle. They have some ventilation too, which is great. They kept my feet warm, but without becoming excessively hot. They wash really well at low temperatures too, without any signs of shrinking. I probably wouldn't wear these in the height of summer or in the depths of winter, but certainly great for autumnal or spring season walks.

Based on the price, I can highly recommend these to you.

I ordered the five pairs in black, although they are actually black and grey.
They are made from 79.7% cotton, 17.8% polyamide, and 2.5% spandex, with grey heel, and toe sections, grey bands at the front, and running up the back, and underside, and the rest in black.
They have nicely reinforced heel and toe areas, good arch support, excellent cushioning on the underside, and weave of the fabric keeps feet cooler, and also helps to prevent blisters.
There is a well elasticated cuff to stop them falling down around your ankles.
These socks are reasonably thick, and they are also reasonably priced at slightly more than £3.00 a pair.
They are a great quality sock, and I think they are well worth the money. They can be machine washed at 30-40C, and tumble dried on a low heat. Smart enough to be worn casually, or more formally too. Ideal for walking, hiking, or for keeping your feet warmer this winter. I definitely recommend them.

I ordered these socks in the largest available size (9-12). I take a size 13, so there was a question mark over whether or not the socks would fit. They stretch to fit me perfectly. The material feels super soft and is extremely comfortable. Vertical ridges provide extra grip. The cushioned soles are padded enough to protect feet even during high-impact activities such as running or skipping. The material is just the right blend of soft comfort (thanks to the high cotton content) and elasticity (thanks to their polyamide and spandex). Perfect socks at a good price. Five stars.

I ordered one of each colour, they have a very nice design and colour. The material is soft and pleasant, they are well made. They also allow the feet to be ventilated, to avoid blisters, but still feel warm as they are certainly thick. They have a good grip on the calf.
They include reinforcements in the key areas of greatest wear, rubbing or necessary cushioning.
The size for a 41-42 foot is perfect.

These socks are a good fit and very warm. They have extra padding in all the areas where the foot comes into contact with your shoes such as the heel, the front of the shin and top of the foot, which help with keeping blisters at bay.

I am very pleased with them and they will be accompanying me on many walks and cycle rides this winter.
