good shoes for walking

Good value shoes which I wanted for walking. Not sure on their longevity but will post an update in future. I normally walk about 6 Km per day so shoes need to be flexible and comfortable. so far these fit the bill in the comfort stakes but the soles are perhaps a little hard and don't provide the 'stickiness' of rubber on slippy surfaces like snow and ice. Its early days yet so perhaps they will get better with use.

Update, these are completely worn out soles, heels and insole after only 6 months of use not good, when they are supposed to be walking shoes. If you do a lot of walking I would not recommend.

Shoe size far smaller than stated. I ordered a 12 UK which was unbelievably too small. I exchanged for a 13 UK which was also far too small. This company has no idea what accurate shoe sizing is.

Rubbish experience, wasted my time with the back and forth returning shoes – be wary of sizing!

I’m 6-6.5 in shoe size. Since lot of people complained in their reviews that sizes of this shoe are too small, I ordered two pairs size 6 and 7, hoping to return 6 if it’s too small. It took about 4 days to arrive even though I’m a prime member. When I wore it size 6 was way too big. My friend who is 7.5-8 could easily wear the shoe. It was that big. Never seen a size 6 shoe that big. Unfortunately since I needed a pair of shoes next day to walk in Cornwall, I had to wear it with many pairs of thick socks. But I’m not going to wear this shoe again. Complete waste of money. They seriously need to get their sizes sorted. When I returned the additional pair, I had to pay the postage even though I’m a prime member. Printed return slip did not include the free postage for Royal Mail. Very disappointed.

I've never bothered with hi-top walking boots or waterproof stuff - always just worn trainers. But, with lockdown 3 in the UK I've been walking more and more. I took the plunge with these and I can't fault them. Where before I'd have to turn back when the going got too wet or muddy, not so with these.
My only criticism is that I'd like them to be a bit more 'secure' on my feet. Only so tight you can pull on the laces... maybe this will improve as they 'bed in' further.

Way too small

The selling page says order your usual size but the advice page says order ½ a size up. My size 10s were way too small - pinching the toes, at least a size too small - and perhaps stupidly I hadn't left enough time to return them for my first walking/working holiday of the year - which they ruined. Ended up wearing trainers. 60% of you say they were a true fit, so who knows. Mine were most definitely not. Otherwise they looked and felt good, but I didn't have time to wear them in, they caused too much pain. Order a size up and be prepared to return if they are wrong.

Previous reviews giving low ratings stated that boots were smaller than expected and cramped. I take a 8 which were out of stock according to the Amazon site, so I ordered a 9. They arrived the day after ordering and I tried them on as soon as the courier dropped them off. The boots are marginally larger than an 8 but very comfortable. The box and packing were in a poor state however, with the lid and sides of the box split open. This suggested that these particular boots have been shipped and returned before, maybe several times by the look of the boxes. However, as they are being sold at less than half the original price and the boots themselves are in pristine condition, I really am not that bothered. Its worth talking a chance on ordering if you can find a size available that is a size larger than you’d normally order, The boots themselves are sturdy and comfortable and very affordable, so are worth a shot.

Not Waterproof

Changing my first review which was very positive. 5 stars down to 1 star.

Very comfortable to wear. Normally take size 11 but size 12 in these fits well. HOWEVER, Ive worn them 3 times now. First two times was in the dry and hiking some woods and was well pleased. Third time was this morning walking the dogs at a local playing field. Grass was wet with morning dew but only max 1.5" high, otherwise the ground was firm. I could feel my socks getting wet within 5 minutes of walking there, from the front working back and after 10 minutes you can see in the picture my socks were nearly fully soaked .

Clearly these are not waterproof - the image in the sales pitch of someone walking in a stream is misleading. As one of the key criteria was they needed to be waterproof I'll be sending these back for credit.

These walking shoes seem to be exactly as described. They are a slightly cosy size 8, but that suits me fine - if you have wide feet you might like one size larger. The insoles are extremely comfortable - almost like a mattress in each shoe! In long, wet grass this morning my feet stayed dry. The shoes seem well built, and time will tell how well they wear... but so far, with about 15k walked since I got them out of the box, they seem to be just the job.

I bought these at the last minute for my son to go on a 10km hike with Scouts, having suddenly discovered he had outgrown his previous walking boots. They arrived the very next day and he wore them the day after! No time to wear them in on shorter walks, but he said they were really comfortable and proved completely waterproof on a very soggy hike. I hadn’t heard of the brand, but I don’t hesitate in recommending them.
