Comes up small/tight
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 March 2019
Having had my eye on them for a while, I've bought these for an upcoming walking holiday. The price fell to £23, so I thought I would go for it. I will come back and review these properly once I've worn them. However, let me add my initial thoughts from my quick pre-holiday wardrobe trying on session here.
First of all: These come up tight everywhere on me. I'm a pear shape, and this is something I experience quite often, but these are noticeably tight. I was considering lose some weight before my holiday, but this has forced my hand! I can wear these, just about. At the moment, I would feel silly being seen out in these.
I'm a size 14 in jeans and trousers from Next, but on the basis of other reviews of Berghaus trousers, I purchased a 16. Even going one size up, these are tight on me around the waist and bottom. These are also tight around the thighs, especially if you're cursed with pear's thighs like mine. It does mean the pockets on the top half of the trousers are probably not going to be useable for me.
Now, some positives.
Despite being a nice thin, light material, there is no VPL. Hooray!
I went for the 33" inside leg, and I would say this is accurate. I normally go for 32" inside leg jeans, and these do seem longer than those. I've not got my tape measure out to verify, but for all us tall ladies, finding genuinely tall-fitting trousers is a real bonus.
I will return once I've had a chance to use these properly on my holiday.
