Top critical review
The padding in these shorts are good for 5 mile rides or up to 1 hr. I weigh 98kgs.

Hi, I bought these padded shorts, as my new bike seat is like a razor. I've found they are no good for me as they do not give the support i need for my ride type. I've since done some homework and found out the following useful info to help you navigate the minefield that is cycle shorts:
Some of the more expensive shorts brands, rate by how many miles or hours you wish to ride. I ride usually no more than 30miles or 4 hours in one session. After using these shorts on many rides, I feel the ache in my arse bones within an hour or under 5 miles. So these are no good for me. I weigh 98kgs so this must have some bearing on the result.
Gel padding isn't the best, as when you apply pressure to gel, it wants to move out the way!
More expensive gel works better but, Foam padding will do the best job of protecting your bottom bones.
I'm seeing that i can find what i need from a price range of about £40 upwards. I'm going to try for antibacterial type.
Regarding these short: For £12 they're well made, the strips on the legs to stop them riding up do work, they stay in place at the waist and they're comfortable on. They might suit a teenager / petite person better, but if you like to ride for a longer time, I wouldn't recommend these.
Hope this helps
