Good but not great

This is my first pair of Asics Gel Nimbus, as I have previously run in Mizuno Wave Riders, but fancied a change and after reading reviews thought these would make a solid choice.
They have enough cushion under the heel to provide enough comfort for daily running , whether that be a faster 5k or a tough hill session. However, I wouldn't wear these for anything beyond 10-15k, instead only using for shorter distances and for daily use as they are super comfy to walk about in too.
I don't have big feet by any means, but there is a slight tightness on the top of my foot when wearing these, especially on the left foot.
Aesthetics wise these are a great looking pair of shoes, the blue is almost metallic and the cooper/rose gold elements really pop too.
Like I say in the title I like these shoes but haven't been totally blown away by them, which for the price I was hoping to be.

Fluid canvas top too fluid.

Purchased these in March 2020 to replace my previous gel nimbus shoes that I had had for many years (over 5) and only thing wearing was the sole - and not much. During that time I have run a couple of half marathons with training often in wet winter months and used them for twice weekly gym sessions.
So really suprised these have only lasted a couple of months (3 max) of mainly fast walking in lockdown. No half marathon or gym, and warm dry weather. Noticed a tiny tear in left shoe 2 weeks ago which has grown to 25mm long. Basically over small toe. Now notice similar small tear on right foot starting in same spot. Fit felt OK.
Will look for another Asics shoe as usually find theirs most comfortable but don't think the materials here up to usual standard.

These shoes (Asics Gel Numbus 22) are very disappointing. We bought three pairs from two separate suppliers. While the soles of the shoes were excellent, the canvas on top is incredibly weak and wore away with multiple holes on the sides and other pressure points within 3 months of purchase, I could see my socks through the holes! Each member of my family had ordered a size larger in case we wanted to put in and insole (which we didn't do), so it wasnt that we burst through them. It was the same experience for each of us. This never happened with our cheaper Asics shoes previously, which seem to have much more sturdy 'canvas' or whatever material it is. We do regular moderate exercise, nothing excessive, no marathons or half marathons or anything remotely near. These shoes are FLAWED. I cannot believe that Asics would sell high end expensive shoes that are of such poor quality. DO NOT BUY THEM.

Bought in May - already wearing away on the top of the shoe

Difficult to believe that a running shoe would wear away so quickly through minimal use (gyms closed and no outdoor running, lockdowns). Only used on treadmill that I only got in August. I initially tried to re purchase the Asics 10 gel ones I had before that lasted two years and endured 10ks, Santa dashes, countless outdoor running, but at the time were sold out. These seemed to tick the box, but so disappointed in the usage I've had for the price I paid. Never really been comfortable with them and even with the foam, but as were Asics, i felt they would take time to bed in. I still had to buy a running insole as developed Plantar fasciitis, only relieved with the new insole. I have seen other reviews comment on the longevity of the upper material being questionable. Apoor choice, and an expensive one.

I ordered these shoes via Amazon and they were delivered on the 22nd of June 2020. The attached photo is of my shoes on the 17th of September 2020 – not three months later. As you can see the front of the shoe is falling apart – my right foot is basically hanging out of the shoe.

I am what you would call a middle of the road runner – I don't do long distances but I do run every week - three perhaps four times for an average of 2 to 4 miles. So let's take the worst case scenario - 13 weeks at 12 miles per week = 156 miles run.

These are supposed to be serious running shoes and are expensive - as you can see they are wrecked after just 156 miles – poor product quality.

The reason I am posting this is that the previous shoes that I purchased exactly the same problem occurred after about the same amount of time.

A hole has appeared in the front of the shoe

After very little use a hole has appeared by the small toe of the left foot in the material .It appears it has rubbed against the harder plastic interior which has worn through the material and now there is a hole. Absolutely dreadful for a £120 pair of trainers worn out by it's own design in less than 6 months of purchase. I won't be buying them again .Flipping useless

I have had these trainers for less than 6 months and they have worn away at the front. I train 3 times a week and I wear normal training socks and they have completely worn away.
