Classic jeans perfect fit on me

Second pair of levis I've bought from Amazon. (Both sold from Amazon direct not just FBA)
Really pleased with them. Fit is just as expected and colour and quality is good. Fashion comes and goes with denim jeans but the levis 501 fit will always be a classic. The ones I bought were in "blue snoot colour" and they contain 1% elastane to give them some give. I definitely wouldn't call them stretchy though by any means but they have just the right amount of "give" in them to make them comfortable when you bend your knees to crouch down.
Bear in mind that 501s are quite slim in the thigh as well if you are on the chunky side!
It's also pretty obvious that these are genuine levis too.

Probably not fake

I only read the reviews after I ordered. "They are 501s, hat could go wrong?" I thought. However they are very different to the old style ones both in fit and material. There is a capital E on one of the orange tabs instead of the small e. The material is not as robust as the old style jeans. The leather brand patch on the back has faded on first wash (washed just after delivery). All these problems were reported by other people in reviews and my pictures would just match theirs.
However, I have read a review with the current head designer at Levis where he defends his decision to change the design of the jeans to include stretch fit material rather than 100% cotton. So this change at least is deliberate. The Levi website continues to advertise these jeans as 100% cotton as they are here on Amazon as well. But they are not.
Wrangler seems to have spotted the concern and offers its jeans in both 100% cotton and stretch fit fabric. There's no option with Levis 501s, you get stretch fit.
The designer says that the decision to change was to meet the desires of the modern consumer. That may be true, but as an old consumer I wanted what I expected, not what I got. Next time I'll buy Wranglers or unbranded work gear rather than Levis.

The denim was not as thick as my previous 501`s considering they were supposed to be original jeans. Having said that they are acceptable.

I ordered size 38 waist and 30 leg. These were to big for me in the waist and were a bit baggy at the rear, so I put them in the washer and drier and they came out the perfect fit having shrunk a little, apart from them still being slightly long. However, I will wait until they have been washed and dried a second time before deciding whether to take them up a bit.

What can you say, a pair of Levi's 501 jeans for £25, you can't beat that for value. Ignore the reviews on here that say that they think their jeans are fake, they aren't. Some people just don't realise that Levi's can change little thinks like the logo tab, belt loop patch, or weight of denim used depending on factors when and where the jeans were made and what market they are intended for.

Mislabelled, far too small

Had to return them as they were far too small. I'm a skinny guy with a 30 inch waist. These were supposed to be 30 inch waist. I couldn't get them past my hips! more like 26 inch. I felt like a normal non-skinny guy for a moment!! which was great, but then I had to face reality and accept that the jeans are mislabelled. After this I questioned whether they were genuine then.

If they say in the advert "order 2 sizes bigger due to mislabelling" then all would be fine.

The description says 100% cotton. The label says 100% cotton. These are NOT 100% cotton as they stretch. This they will wash and wear very badly and are not worth the money if they happened to be half the price. Avoid these.

got a size up from what i’d normally be on all my other jeans but yet they were still too tight , bought a cheaper pair to make sure it wasn’t just me and 31-32 waist fitter nicely
these as a 31 were so so tight more like a 28/29 waist . let lengthways good

Frankly, Levi's has gone to the dogs! The jeans fits well but there is no consistency of quality anymore. Levi's are produced around the world, from China, Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, Dominican Republic and many more. None of them are the same cloth. The best I have is more than 10 years old, made in Turkey, excellent fit superb cloth. Pakistan cloth is really good, the fit atrocious. DR fitting is good, the cloth atrocious!
An ardent fan of Levi's, after years of tolerating sub-par material, I think I have had enough and plan to move to another brand.

I don't like buttons (broke my thumb a while back) so always buy zip. Description said zip but I got buttons.
Fit was also a bit tighter than other brands advertising same size.
I returned and refund was prompt.
if you like buttons and aren't as fat as me, you'll probably love these jeans.

Wow Levi's have changed since my first pair around 40 years ago! Am I really that old!

There are many fake Levis around but these seem authentic. They do not shrink to fit any more as the originals did. They have less brass studs and the seams are nipped to the minimum in an efficiency/profit drive.

I have trawled the internet including some American sites and 501 shrink to fit can't be found. In fact I get the impression that 501 will not be made any more soon. Discontinued.

Worth the money compared to the plethora of more expensive Levi styles available.
