Warm jacket true to size

Fits true to size with room for jumper. I'm wearing it with a thick fleece. Deep pockets, quality matching zip. Faux fur trim to collar with concealed hood. Covers bottom. I'm 5'5" with long body and short legs. About 9st 5lb Size 12. Overall a nice jacket. Would need a hat if very cold as the hood is a thin nylon one.

This jacket has a lovely colour, it is size 18 across the bust, just right. It also arrived on time! My objection is the length of sleeves. I have long arms, but even so, the sleeves are too long! The design of the jacket should have been more figure hugging, I don't like the A-line tapering. I have long legs but this shape did not suit me and I wonder what it will do for someone 5ft. 1in tall. The zip has to be handled with care because it tends to be bumpy and in danger of coming apart. It does not run up and down smoothly. In spite of my objections, I shall not return it because it is a good price and warm and perhaps shortening the sleeves would make me like it even more. Perhaps a suggestion would be to state length of sleeve and jacket in the description.

I wanted to wear the jacket over a jumper for horse riding in winter. Based on other reviews I bought size 14, whereas I am normally a size 12. The size 14 was miles too big. You could easily wear a jumper under your normal size, as long as it is not super bulky The jacket is beautiful and I could tell is would be very warm, just from trying it on. I will be returning this one and buy my normal size.

I have been looking for a lightweight warm quilted jacket for ages and this is the only one that does everything. It is really warm and cosy yet very lightweight; it is long enough to cover my rear; it is a lovely bright red and my normal size fits well even over a jumper and does not make me look like a “Michelin man”. I’m not a fan of fur trim on hoods and really like this warm collar. I have not used the hood yet so can’t comment on that. I like it so much I want to buy another in a navy.

Lovely coat, I ordered “stone” and was expecting a grey shade but it’s actually cream in some lights and grey in others (see pictures).
The material has a lovely silky feel and the fur collar is very soft. It’s a very warm coat! There is a thin hood which rolls out of the collar, kept in by a Velcro fastening, haven’t used in the rain yet but I’m sure I will soon!
Size wise - I am a size 12 but always order sizes up in coats due to large chest size and to fit jumpers, I ordered a 16 and it just fits nicely over a jumper, I wouldn’t want any smaller.

This coat arrived today beautifully packaged as always with Romans. The colour is a lovely blush pink like the 1st photo in the listing and my 1st and 2nd photos in my review. I see they have 2 x pinks, the 2nd "light pink 2" seems to be a candy pink with a hood, i chose the 1st option which i preferred. It is a beautiful fit and true to size, i'm a size 10 and could still wear a jumper underneath. Whilst the price was great at £33.75 i am not altogether happy with the zips. Whilst the zips are heavy and seem good quality, they catch occasionally on both the main front zip and pocket zips which you need to take care with when doing them up. The pocket zips also have that annoying wavy look you get with coats made in China (not sure where this was made) the 3rd photo will show you what i'm referring to in detail, but the colour in that 3rd pic isn't true, as it's more the 1st and 2nd pics that show the true colour. The other little snag is that the lining isn't great quality to be honest. But at the end of the day, value for money was great and maybe i was comparing too much to my Joules coats which may not be fair on Romans as they are at least double the price. Overall it feels and looks lovely on with a fitted appearance. I'm considering buying another in a different colour despite what i've said as it is a really lovely coat. But i wanted to give a true review and only knocked off one star. Whilst i've not worn it out yet, it seems like it will be warm, but probably not in really cold snaps as very light weight. More suitable for chilly spring days and Autumn which is fine for me. I'm 5ft 2inches and it comes down past my bum and the sleeves are not too long for me as others have said and my arms are quite short. All in all, very happy to recommend, i'm a fan of Romans and generally very happy with their clothing ranges, on this occasion there were just a couple of small snags.

Don't tumble dry

My mother accidentally put this in the tumble dryer and completely wrecked it. I've knocked a couple of stars off my original score for this. The garment does specify it shouldn't be tumble dried, but I don't see how a well made garment should actually melt a little! Makes me a little worried it could be a fire hazard, too.

So, cleaning and drying is an issue = not a very practical garment. The somewhat janky zip keeps catching and is annoying. On the plus side, it's definitely warm and the pockets are well placed. Just don't melt it.
