Call me crazy, but if I spend a hundred and twenty bucks on a pair of sneakers, I expect them to feel comfortable right out of the box. There is something sharp digging into my right heel on this pair. I was going to wear them to walk my dog, but just 10 minutes of wearing them in my house to get ready for the walk, and I was already starting to get a blister. I tried loosening the right one a LOT, but it doesn't help. Sorry but this pair is defective and is going back. This is the second pair of Asics that I've had trouble with. Sad because they've always been my go-to sneaker. I'm going out to walk the dog now, in a pair that I've had for 20 years. The quality has gone way downhill, I must say. May be time to try a new brand. I ordered another pair, but I won't get my hopes up too high. I didn't even receive what was pictured in the listing. Apparently they have "updated" these and changed the look of them. Scroll down a few pics, and you'll see the new design. Nowhere near as attractive as the old ones.

I’ve been buying ASIC GT-200 for 5 or more years. I’ve always worn 7.5. However, I got a 7.5 from amazon and found them oddly small. Wore them anyway until it hurt running. Ordered the SAME EXACT PAIR from a trustworthy online shoe store that rhymes with nappos. Sure enough, 7.5 fits! There are also some differences in the decals and the bottom sole. Maybe use “nappos” instead for these. Normally the same price.

I have bought many pair of the ASCIS GT 2000 shoes. I go through several pair a year as I walk a lot. The quality has always been outstanding. This latest pair was lacking much of the padding I depend on the tongue of the shoe and around the ankle. I did not notice it at first. After a couple of weeks of wearing them, I was getting rubbing on different parts of my feet. Then I compared an old pair to this pair and the padding was significantly different between the two. I will order another pair. However, I will closely examine them upon receipt. If it is still the same, I will return them. This make me very sad as I have had issues finding and athletic shoe that works for my arch issues. This was the right shoe for my issues. Good luck with getting this fixed.

Barely There, Poor Quality Foam Inside

Just bought these 1.5 months ago and the foam around the back ankle of the left shoe has sunken down from pulling the shoes on without unlacing them. See photo of shoe on left compared to right. I can't wear them any more because it feels like something is in the back of my shoe. I would return them but it's past the return window. Also, the foam inside the shoe is basically nonexistent so don't get these if you want a soft landing when walking or running. Sad because these look better than my other Asics.

Not as good as the Gel-Contend 6

I have worn both the Gel-Contend 5 and 6. The fit and comfort was always good. This newer model Gel-Contend 7 has changed. The cut has changed, and it is not as wide. The shoelaces are so short they can barely be tired. I think Asics has cut too many corners on this once great shoe. I had to return them and will look elsewhere for a better fitting shoe.

Great look, great fit in terms of arch support; HOWEVER, the design on top of the shoe has been changed and the laces and holes are placed differently with fewer holes. Consequently, the laces and underlying tab slip when walking and running which creates irritation on top of both feet. I have loved these shoes for the last several years, but right now dreading wearing these shoes.
UPDATE - after trying one more time with these shoes and every step was painful, have submitted return and will find a different shoe. Feels so good to have my old pair back on.

Really disappointed in the level of quality considering the price point. I bought these shoes a few weeks ago and the interior fabric in the heels is already starting to wear off. I've only worn them 9 or 10 times for 20-40 minute walks-it's not like I ran a marathon in them. When you spend over $100 for a pair of running shoes you don't expect them to start to wear down so quickly. I would love to return them since they are still within the 30 day return window but obviously I can't since they've been worn. I used to love Asics but in general I feel like their quality has decreased.

I am a faithful Asics sneaker wearer.. I purchased this pair of sneakers for a family vacation to Disney World the end of November. They fit a little more snug than my other ASICS, but I made them work. I do not wear the sneakers every day and after three or four months, I noticed holes popping through where my big toe is. Also, while putting the sneakers on, the back folds down at the heel and I need to use a shoehorn to fix it. These sneakers are not inexpensive and I have no problem spending the money for a good pair of sneakers and these definitely disappointed me. I will have to find a new brand if this is what ASICS has come to.
