5.0 out of 5 starsPlenty Of Bang For The Buck
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 August 2020
This is my first pair of Craghoppers and AT THIS MODEST PRICE
I am VERY PLEASED with them. Mine fit perfectly at waist and leg length.
Easy to wear with long johns underneath on cold days as they are relaxed-roomy
fit which is just how I like my trousers. Lots of zip pockets and zip off legs
which is why I chose them in the first place. Comfy and functional.

I'm impressed enough to have ordered another 3 pairs plus 5 shirts and
some mosquito repellant socks as well! If I could suggest future improvements to
this Kiwi Convertible design I would like to see;

Velcro ankle cuffs. I hate it when trousers flap about in the wind
and its also a useful feature for heat conservation if it gets cold suddenly.

Better quality zips.

Cargo pockets on both sides of the legs, one of which could be fully waterproof.

The fabric is a bit thin. I would suggest adding nylon and elastane to make them more
durable and stretchy. Plus the butt could do with extra reinforcing material.

Obviously these improvements would drive production costs up but I for one would certainly
be willing to pay more to see these improvements incorporated into this designs present
incarnation.

One more thing if any Craghoppers personnel are reading this. Hire a decent web designer.
Your website is so badly designed and unresponsive its a seriously off-putting end user
experience and a negative endorsement of your brand that will cost you customers. Its also
the reason why I ordered your goods through amazon instead and its only because I'm doggedly persistent
that I made the extra effort. Most people however are not so inclined and will 'switch off' so please take
note and fix the website or prepare to lose custom because of it. It would be a real shame to see you nosedive
for it. Improve your website and your product and you'll enlarge your reputation, your consumer base and hopefully make great and useful clothing for years to come.

3.0 out of 5 starsIf the zips were more robust and lasted longer I'd give them a higher rating
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 May 2017
I have a number of pairs of these, and find them useful when travelling, walking etc due to their quick drying ability and the large number of zipped pockets for keeping belongings safe and to hand.

However recently it seems that quality standards are falling. In particular I've had quite a number of zips fail on me, particularly on the side hip pockets. This is the main reason I end up demoting a pair to DIY or similar as usually the rest of the pair is is decent condition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Deeper pockets like the old ones
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 February 2019
Colour: BeachSize: 40W / 31LVerified Purchase
Delighted with these. Pockets are bigger than the 'improved' versions of these trousers. I've been buying these since they came out and the early ones had nice deep pockets. Then they went all cheap and you couldn't get a normal sized adult hand into the pockets. They seem to have settled somewhere in between but at least these pockets are much bigger than previous (unless somebody has found some really old stock!) Ordered another pair straight away before they run out or I get a pair with those tiny gnome hand front pockets. Well done the supplier on the price. Thank you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Secure travel pants

These 'hoppers are great for travelling. Secure double pockets with zips. Leg cargo pocket has inner elasticated pocket which securely holds a UK passport. Also 'hidden' zipped pocket above knee which is very useful for documents and valuables. It is notable that the supplied non-metallic belt does not need to be removed for security purposes at airport security which is a great time and hassle saver (and no dropped keks in the full body scanner :-). Strong and durable. Plenty of room for movement. Selection of colours. Great value. I have bought 4 pairs of zip-offs over the past 2 years and one pair of the standard version.

4.0 out of 5 stars Plenty of pockets, good fit
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 October 2018
Colour: Black (Black Pepper/Black)Size: 36W / 29LVerified Purchase
Fit is great. The short version didn't need any alterations.

More pockets than you'd believe. Four hip pockets (two of which are zipped - one on each side). A thigh pocket with velcro fastening (boo) but the side pocket has its own second pocket which though smaller is zipped. The main thigh pocket also has an elastic mobile phone pocket. Finally there's two 'bum pockets' both with zips.

So that's five zipped pockets and somewhere to put your mobile phone. The zips are a little flimsy and some care has to be taken to avoid them snagging but rarely a problem.

The velcro will no doubt rip, get fluffy then fail but at least it's just the one pocket and replacing it with a popper isn't a difficult or expensive job (you can get the kit for that here on Amazon).

So slightly more robust zips, and a popper instead of velcro and this would get five stars. Even so after originally buying two I've bought another four while stocks last.

D. CRAIG
5.0 out of 5 stars Much the same as my 8+ year old Kiwis
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 July 2016
Colour: Black (Black)Size: 38W / 29LVerified Purchase
16th of July 2016.
My new black Kiwi Zip-offs arrived today.

First impressions are pretty good soI've order another pair.
Craghopperes seemed to have responded to negative feedback about their re-designs of these trousers.

The pockets all have similar internal dimensions to my old pairs of Kiwi from almost a decade ago.
The elasticated pocket inside the leg pocket is actually bigger that before and it now accommodates my iPhone6s Plus!

This new buckle is a return to the type where you have to squeeze from both the top and bottom, and the belt fabric itself is now much longer than before. The plastic buckle parts now slide out of the waist loops much easier than before, so that's all good if you want to hang things on your belt.

The removable legs no longer have the left and right labels. The zip seemed a little less well made than my old pairs and I had trouble getting the zip started.

I only wish that the point where you have to start zipping up the trousers wasn't so far round to the side of the leg, 30-45 degrees further round to the front would be great and shouldn't compromise the look too much?

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for trekking or outdoor activities. Last pair lasted 8 years
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 October 2018
Colour: Brown (Beach)Size: 32W / 31LVerified Purchase
Exactly the same fit as the pair I bought about 8 years ago. Good fit for me and I love to wear them as shorts, but have the extra length available in my bag for cooler evenings (or as mosquito barrier.) Rear pockets are ripped, side pockets have open outer packet and zipped inner. Thigh pocket on teh right has velcro flag and inner "phone pocket". New in the latest version is a hidden zip pocket on the thigh.
As far as I can tell the same quality and durability, so looking forward to another 8 years. The last pair survived better than the previous pair (bought in 2000, which wore out and frayed around the bum until I couldn't wear them any more.) The last pair I bought are still intact, but the sewing around the rear pockets gave out and leaked coins or money into the lining, then the rear pocket zips gave out and finally, the side/front pocket zips came loose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Confusing sizing availability
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 June 2020

Was confused by the sizes available. what is the difference between 36 and 36W ? I'm guessing the 36W are a bit wider ? They are 35 inches long is what I can confirm. But how can you argue with a pair of Craghopper 2 in 1s at under £13 ? Took a punt at this price as I really got them for the shorts as the weather is now warming up. Cheaper than actually buying a pair of shorts ! Haven't actually worn them yet but they appear to be the quality you would expect. So I'd say a bargain has been delivered

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor over baggy design
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 January 2020
Colour: Brown (Beach)Size: 36Verified Purchase
Well waist size and length are accurate but everything in between is out of proportion. Far too baggy - yes i have other Kiwi troucers including convertibles so these are a major disappointment. The seat , thighs and lower leg are oversized- there is a label on the troucers say they are a relaxed fit - this is NOT in the web page description - a serious omission . What should be a practical /versitile pair of troucers is in reality totally impractical.

Coops
5.0 out of 5 stars Above average
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 April 2016
Colour: BeachSize: 34W / 33LVerified Purchase
A classic men's 'activity trouser'. They last well and when new, may be acceptable on the smarter end of 'casual'.

Good points:-
The sizing L/long is at least a 34" inside leg, possibly a little more. They don't look silly on a tall chap with long legs;
Windproof;
Mobile telephone pocket internal to the the thigh pocket on the right leg;
Zipped pockets available;
Vaguely shower proof when new;
Reinforced leg cuff to protect against wear;
When the 'legs' are unzipped, the resulting shorts are a sensible (suitably modest) length.

Not so good points:-
The belt is a bit naff;
There is an outer pocket on the right thigh cargo pocket. I owned a couple of pairs of these trousers for many years before realising that this pocket existed (I thought it was a bizarre pleat.) The zip for this pocket is at the back, so when one is sitting down with the pocket fastened, the contents can fall out. A small detail not fully thought out...
Velcro closure on the thigh pocket is 'adequate', but when the thigh is raised above the horizontal, smaller items *may* fall out.

Excellent trousers for gentle outdoor activities; may be considered a little lacking for technical applications.
