Not great for serious runners

I own three other NB shoes 1080V9, tempo, and rebel. I was expecting this shoe to be more like the 1080 but it’s not. The foam is firmer. I will say this the fit of the shoe is just fine. For walking(I do 5k walks with my wife) it’s great. Very comfortable , good fit and lightweight. But for serious runners? There are better shoes out there specially for the price. Buy it on sale but don’t pay full retail.

Comfortable, good looking, little slippery

Pros:

1. So good looking. The knit and how the back of the shoes, and front of the shoes match in color when your pants are just over it makes it look so awesome looking. The colors are very accurate. Design and texture is better in person.

2. N logo reflects light at night - which is a very nice touch.

3. Super cushion - I've had a lot of NB before, and I bought them because they were super comfortable to just wear all day long. Going for a long walk or short sprints, lifting heavy stuff, or whatever that you don't want to wear your dress shoes for. And this is no different. Very supportive. Arch support is very good as well for those with medium arch.

4. Shoe lace test - I like it when I put the shoe laces in, and there are enough. Also, it doesn't roll up when you lace it. It stays in place pretty good.

5. Super easy to put on. There is some give, or stretch that it makes it super easy to put on. You can't put it on while standing, but this is easier to put on then most shoes I've had.

Cons:

1. It gets dirty sooo fast. I washed this after two days or wearing it. The knit and the bottom white gets dirty so fast. Once you get something on the knitted part, it's very difficult to get it out.

2. The rear part that hugs your heels tend to be loose if your shoes not super tight. It's not terrible, but I just imagined that the design lends itself to hug your heels no matter how tight your laces are. Not the case. I wish it was elastic or something, so it holds you up.

3. Tongue tend to go to the side. This bothers me a lot on any shoes, but this shoes does it. It slides to the right or left and leaves a little gap. It's not uncomfortable, but it does bother me a bit aesthetically.

Are there better shoes than this? Of course. But depends on your foot shape (I have a medium, normal, all toes line up, second toe is ever slightly longer than my big toe, medium width, medium arch foot) I don't think you can find one this comfortable that looks this good (NB makes walking shoes for dad's that's suppose to be super comfortable - according to my father I bought one for).

I'd buy.

These shoes were extremely comfortable and seemed like they'd be great for serious runs. I had to return them, though, because my wife thought they were funny-looking and wouldn't let me wear them. It was a fair point. Also, though I was expecting it to be a crimson-y upper with white soles, they were magenta and sparkly silver in person. Not great.

This is a overall a pretty good running shoe, but not as cushioned as I had hoped. I love the aesthetics of the shoe, and New Balance is wonderful about making comfortable shoes for us with wide feet. It definitely favors a mid-foot strike, which may help some with running form. I have another pair of cushioned running shoes from another manufacturer, and I experience noticeably less calf and ankle pain when running with those than these.

The shoe performs fairly well. Support is average, cushioning would be on the side of well cushioned versus neutral. The only issue I had is wearing no-show socks. The shoe does hug your foot relatively well but I found that sucks that clear the natural color of the shoe result in almost no rubbing.
