Good but doesn’t wash very well.

Sadly whilst the jacket is good value and perfect for what was needed, the quality and construction is not great. Bought this as a Christmas present for my dad and sadly it’s been in the wash once and has fallen apart at the pocket areas. Sorry to write a bad review only I couldn’t find how to contact you individually about this issue. Other than that my dad was chuffed to bits with the jacket just a shame about wash quality. Thanks

Weird shape...sort of.

Unlike my other hoodies (and I have a lot of types) this one creases in a weird way like I have a lump in my body - like the John Hurt moment in Alien. Also the pocket on the right is too small even for my phone (even my work phone which isn't exactly a dinner plate sized smart phone either). Other than that it was comfortable and the quality was ok. Just not one I'd wear outdoors now due to the aforementioned John Hurt issue. Made me think twice about buying clothes from Amazon.

i am a fan of Lee Cooper hoodies for only 1 reason: they always make sleeves long enough for my a bit long arms. and this hoodie is not even XXL size as described. total waste of expectations

Very good practical hoodie, warm and comfortable. The only problem I have had is the zips on the pockets get stuck every now and again and take an age to work them open again, so I now leave them open.

Lee Cooper brings back memories of wearing lots of LC clothes back in my day. So I was very happy to review the Lee Cooper workwear full zipped hoody jacket. The jacket isn’t necessarily heavy compared to the quality. The one I have on in the image is a large. I am 5ft 9ins, weigh 11.5 stone and a UK size 14. Even though the jacket is meant for men’s workwear, there is no reason why ladies cannot wear it.
The material is 100% polyester, feels warm in the house, and goes well under m winter coat.
Be careful washing, do not soak, and must zip the jacket up prior to going in the machine. The zip may snag the jacket.
Do not tumble dry, it will possibly shrink, what I did after the photos were done was wash the jacket, then put it on a clothes hanger to keep the shape, then air dry, or as I did on a clothes airier. Washed really nice, a bit of black dye came out in the wash, but that’s fairly normal.
Several zips to talk about. The front has a zip on the chest area, right side. Could possibly fit a mobile that’s the smaller size, keys, loose change for example. Also two zipped pockets at the bottom of the jacket. Both sides really deep and made well. On the inside of the jacket are open pockets, two on the right, one lower on the left. Fairly deep also.
The jacket comes with a decent hood, with attached draw string. Nice and warm when on. The hood is NOT detachable. Lee Cooper logos inside motif, also on the zips. The full zip has a kind of a membrane to keep wind out. The jacket is black with red on the zips, and come kind of pattern motif which I thought was a bit strange. So do not iron the motif.
All in all a lovely, cosy jacket, priced realistically presently £29.99.
If you are a man and wonder about the sizes, my husband who is 5ft 7 and a waist size of 32-34 ins (UK) and usually wears medium t shirts found the jacket really big, in fact miles too big. So I think the main factor is Arm length, and tallness and weight. It was fine for me.
So if usually you are a medium in clothes, or large etc, the jacket is true to sizing. I am a large and fit me perfect.

I am an amazon vine reviewer. I am reviewing the large size Lee Cooper Zip Through Hooded Sweat Jacket. It is intended for work related activities.

The shell is made up of a mix of 85% polyester and15% cotton. The hood is lined with 100% polyester. There is a warning to keep the jacket away from fire. I think this is based on the polyester material.

First of all, I put the jacket on and zipped it up. The main zip worked very well without any snagging. The hood can be tightened securely around my head/face using a pull string.

The jacket has 2 generous side pockets at waist level. Their zips work well. The zips are made of a combined inner zip and rubberised outer layer. This outer layer closes very tightly and should prevent any rain / water entering the pocket.

There is a right breast pocket. This too has the rubberised zip design in funky red. There are “Lee Cooper” zip pulls on all of the above 4 zips mentioned above.

Inside the jacket are 2 storage pockets (my words). You can store light items in them I think such as paperwork or a hat and maybe a phone. The waist level pockets have plenty of room for my mobile phone, but I could not get my phone into the breast pocket. In the waist level pockets I could place a tape measure, a 6” spirit level and a medium sized screwdriver

The large size jacket enabled me to wear several layers underneath.

I donned the jacket today (Nov 16) and went out to do a few jobs. The temperature was 11 Celsius. The weather was overcast with intermittent rain, so I had a thermal vest and T shirt on below my Lee Cooper jacket.

I used the lawn mower to cut the grass and gather up the fallen leaves from the several trees in our garden, placing the cuttings in our outside compost bins.

We have a wood burner. So, my next job was sorting out our wood stocks from kindling, small branches– about 2-3” diameter, and finally the standard split logs.

I then relocated some heavy garden planters - with plants - as part of storing them away before winter. I also moved some wooden troughs -that we had used for growing tomatoes – using a sack truck.

Throughout all of these tasks I found the Lee Cooper jacket very comfortable and warm without being hot. Most of the time I did not pay much attention to the jacket – which is a good sign!

I was wearing a baseball hat, and when the rain increased, I put the hood up and carried on working. It never rained enough to make me want to take shelter.

Based on my brief experiences to date, I would say that the Lee Cooper Zip Through Hooded sweat jacket is well made and will be an excellent addition to my DIY kit. My impressions, albeit over a few days, are very positive. I think the jacket should last a long time. When the jacket needs washing, the inside label says to do the zips up and wash the jacket inside out. Don’t iron or tumble dry.

The jacket is worthy of a 5-star rating from me.
