Good Alternative To Under Armour

(Review written by Robert Murphy) I have had a pair of the Under Armour version of these compression shorts, and have worn them to the gym for many years. The UA were well made and lasted a long time.

These compression shorts are comparable in fit to the UA, but are not quite as thick in material thickness. For the money (under $10), they are close enough to the UA shorts. The test now will be durability, will they hold up as long as the UA did... only time will tell.

There is more compression in these shorts, for which the description uses the word compression 0 times, than there is is many other shorts marketed as compression—and for that, a big thumbs up from me.

Form fitting and comfortable with, as noted above, a modest amount of compression. I haven’t worked out in these yet, but my initial impressions are positive—and I can’t really complain much given they cost a whopping $10-ish.

I tried 1 pair as the cost was fine if it did not work out. was pleasantly surprised when the support and fit was very similar to the name brand version., I went ahead and ordered several more pair and will likely only order these from now on.

The shorts arrived in a nondescript plastic bag devoid of branding. having a little paper tag attached with one of those plastic string things that you have to cut off, but that's to be expected. The construction is remarkably decent for how light they are. The stretch factor is good, and they have a retro-reflective patch on the left leg. Quality of stitching was great, as is the material itself.

Comfort wise? they feel great, even on my 42 inch waist. They have decent range of motion, and can be worn for extended periods of time without a single issue. Biggest complaint is that you really need to be wearing a set of sport underwear as well, your standard cotton underpants like to bunch up and looks awful.

And speaking of awful, I can't wear just these out of private. The material has great compression qualities, but leaves little to the imagination regarding your junk, even when wearing the proper underpants. They're very similar in that regard to the longer version, also on Amazon. Besides the sport skivvies requirement, they'd be fine for running and cycling, assuming you're able to keep the twig and berries concealed. I plan to keep them for home workouts, or as a under layer.

More compression than most compression shorts provide

I've worn compression shorts for my gym workouts for many years, so I have been able to try a number of different brands, materials, etc. I like them for modesty under gym shorts where I don't want to flash anyone and for the mild amount of muscle support they provide. These shorts have more compression strength than just about any other pair I've worn. I like that, but it may not be everyone's first choice. These are also very lightweight and nice looking. They seem to launder easily without shrinking. I plan to wear these now on a regular basis because I think they're a little better than the ones I've been using. They also appear to be a good value. Compression shorts can be surprisingly expensive and these seem pretty reasonable. I'm pleased to have them and might buy another pair later.

Overly thick waistband and a tag that will not die, but otherwise decent.

I don't know who thought that the 9" in "9in Shorts" should mean a 9 inch thick* waistband+tag, but here we are. The shorts themselves have held up as well as my name-brand boxer briefs (Addidas, Under Armour, and Ex-Officio) but they're not as comfy. Support is good, and I appreciate the length because it keeps chafing at bay when I'm up and down ladders all day.

Would I buy them again? Sure! Would I pick them over the similarly priced Under Armour Boxerjocks? Nah.

*For the sarcasm-deficient, I'm being hyperbolic, but the waistband does feel like it's twice as thick as it should be.

Good quality, good fit

These compression shorts are well made, out of quality materials. Flat seams to prevent chafe. Poly fabric wicks sweat away and dries fast.

No fly construction, and the pouch area is made of a double thickness of mesh material that breathes better.

They are sized correctly- Order your normal size. As they are compression shorts, they are, of course, snug fitting but in no way restrictive. They stay in place nicely even during rigorous workouts.

Tag in back is sewn in, but designed to be easily removed if desired for comfort.

Very Tight Compression Shorts

I found these to be a bit too tight for me, although the size typically fits me well. I wore these while going on a 19 mile bike ride to Bear Mountain, NY.

These do an excellent job of keeping sweat and moisture away from areas at risk of getting chafed, and keeps your body together comfortably, while constantly rotating your feet up and down.

I will they were a bit less compressing but otherwise, these function perfectly.

The quality of the elastic could be improved.

The stitching makes it almost impossible for the seams to come apart, at the seams at least. Also it’s double stitched as well. I think that’s what it’s called. There’s no cotton at all but it’s still a really comfortable fit. If I’m not thinking about them them during the day, which I’m not, then Amazon has done well with these shorts. I’m pleased with them thru and thru. Four Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!
