Not the same quality as earlier versions

I've been wearing this shoe for years, through its various versions. These shoes, however, are not holding up as well as the others. For example, I was wearing the previous incarnation for over a year before retiring them to wear this new pair in January. This morning, April 20th, I looked down to see that the upper on the right shoe was ripping over the toes. So not even four months of wear, and these are not holding up as expected. The previous pair doesn't have any rips in the uppers.

Why change a good shoe

I know it is all about improving their products (shoes), but it seems like every time NB attempts to improve on their shoes, it doesn't work. Initially, I went to order a new pair of the 1540 V2 Running Shoes, well, they stopped making them, so I had to order the 1540 V3 Running Shoe. My size, 11 4E, fit like a glove. New sizes, 11 W, 11 XW, or 11 XXW. Not knowing what to order, I ordered the 11 XXW, of course, it was the wrong one. That is the 11 6E. So, I had to exchange it...thank you. However, when I got the replacement 11 XW (11 4E) the shoe is so tight, I could barely get my foot into it. Then, the laces didn't even lace all the way to the top. What is going on NB? Why can't you just leave well enough alone?

Not as good as the previous V2 version!

I previously owned and have worn out two pairs of the New Balance Men's 847V2's. Imagine my surprise when I found out they no longer make the Version 2 and have now released their V3 model. Can't say I'm a fan at all. I ordered the exact same size as before (13EE) and I found out after putting 25 miles or so on this new pair they are not as wide as the V2's at the point just forward of where your Cuboid bone is located. The left shoe has rubbed my foot raw on the side where the inner seam meets the sole.

Additionally for some strange reason New Balance decided to put a white tag with black lettering on the top of the shoe's tongue. The tag on the previous V2 model was black with white lettering and matched the black shoe much better whereas with this new version the tag stands out like a sore thumb. I ended up using a black sharpie to cover up the white part of the tag.

Inferior to V2s

I wore a pair of 1504v2s for work where I stand all day and really liked them. When they wore out, it was in the midst of coronavirus and I couldn't get out to a shoe store to try on new shows, so I ordered the next in line 1504v3's without trying them. The feel wasn't horrible, but not as good as the predecessor. Also unfortunate is these did not hold up nearly as long. Wearing the v2's only for work they lasted a good 5-6 months. Wearing these v3s, they are in much worse shape, after only about 2 months. I wore them the exact same amount, as my work schedule is always the same. I'll probably be looking for a new shoe to replace these, as I am not a fan.

I consistently take an 11 2E shoe in almost every brand, especially new balance. I ordered these in 11 2E and they were over an inch too long, and a bit wide. I returned them and got a 10.5 2E which were also too large - unfortunately I wore them around a bit too much and couldn't return them before realizing this. I suggest ordering a whole size down and potentially a width down as well. Or just avoid them all together. I feel like they are mis labelled.

I've owned a few pairs of this shoe in black, and they've lasted almost 6 weeks of daily wear, which is actually almost unheard of in today's shoe marketplace. So, I thought I'd try a grey pair. Well, I was disappointed to say the least. I'm guessing the grey pairs are made in a different factory, maybe even by a different manufacturer. They have no body to them, they don't feel stiff when new, they don't need to be broken in at all, and I've stopped wearing them after only a week, because they feel like they've collapsed and are no longer offering any support, especially arch support.
Please continue to buy this shoe in black(I haven't tried white yet) because it's a good walking shoe. I really can't recommend the grey.

ive gotten the same shoe and size for years now, and this one is not the same as prior pairs, the part of the show t hat goes from the soul and over you foot, is harder's, and less forgiving, causing me a certain lvl of foot discomfort. this will most likly be the last pare of new balance shoes i get

The old 847 solved toe width problems. I didn't get and irritate corns on my toes with it. So I ended up buying 3 from Amazon. This new version is more fashionable but doesn't help an old man like me since it has inadequate toe space.
