Found these way too big and quite thin and shiney

I am afraid I returned them - they get good reviews, which is why I bought them. However the size was too big for me, in the waist ( length was good though), and the material was thinner than the description led me to believe. I have a slim waist so think it’s down to my build rather than a product fault but I’m afraid they seemed different to the product description. Many seem happy though so I think the sizing is generous. I sent them back and think Amazon’ return process is excellent and professional. I rarely return anything but appreciated the swift returns process with no quibbles.

These are really handy for light exercise or cold weather work. They are particularly good at staying dry, and still breathing. I use these to walk and hike and generally have no problem.

They are designed to go over your sports gear, so sizing is v generous

If you're looking for some trousers to wear to a yoga class or to throw over your shorts whilst you warmup for a track session or gym session then these are an excellent choice. They will also do you very well if you just want a relaxed pair of trousers to wear around the house.

So, most joggers these days have a tighter fit around the butt and calves. Mostly this is down to fashion, but it's also functional in the sense that it stops your trousers catching on your shoes or chain or machines when you're working out. These trousers buck that trend and instead give you lots of room at the hips, butt and calves. This means you get a lot of freedom of movement - you can easily do dynamic warmup movements such as leg swings or an entire yoga class wearing them. You never feel they are 'tight' or 'catching' you during movement.

In terms of looks, they are a plain black with the NB logo on the top left. This is fairly standard for New Balance - they rarely go with eye-catching designs, instead they go for subtle looks and this is why they are so popular amongst many runners and gym-goers who like this style. I would say that - in my view - the relaxed fit looks less fashionable than a tapered fit. The baggy look around the butt and calves is certainly better suited to a gym environment or in a running group as opposed to wearing around town.

The polyester is comfortable against your skin and draws sweat away from the body. It dries very quickly and doesn't feel heavy when damp. They are quite thick, so you will get warm quickly whilst wearing these if you're training.

Overall, I think these trousers are a good choice if you're looking for a pair of joggers that allow you to move freely. They are perfectly suited for warming up or doing a yoga class.

Lightweight and quick drying - perfect overlayer

These tracky pants are really great combo of lightweight material, a generous fit rather than the skinny fit style whilst also having a lined material on the inside to keep them nice and warm.

They are perfect for popping over the top of shorts for on the way to a football match or similar, or a pop in your bag type extra layer to pop on if the weather turns.

I suffer from short-leg syndrome, I'm a 32-34 inch waist and only a 29 inch inside leg so these are a couple of inches too long but anyone with normal proportions will find them standard fit.

The combination of keeping you warm whilst also being quick drying is a fantastic combination as rarely do you find something that does both. You either get heavy warm ones that don't fare so well in the wet or the other way round where you don't get that comfy warmth.

A great all round option, not the most fashionable but plenty of room for an over-the-top-layer or for those additional lockdown pounds of weight!

These Core Knit Jogger bottoms from New Balance are a very generous fit. I’m 6 foot and about 13 ½ stone. The length is excellent but there’s a lot of spare room in the waist – and I’m not exactly the slimmest jogger on the block. I can pull the drawstring waist in enough to fit, but I imagine if you are particularly tall and slim, the fit could be a problem for you. These joggers are 100% polyester, so they have that sheen that you get from a lot of running clothing (you’ll find no cosy warm fleece lining here). They are fast drying and moisture wicking though, which has been a godsend over the last few weeks when the weather has been abysmal. Further to my comments about the generous waist, the fit is relaxed all the way through the leg, although they do taper down towards the ankle. The ankle itself is not gathered, so they just rest on your shoe. With all that in mind, I have to say I rather like them. They’re not the most fashionable running trousers I’ve ever seen, but they’re extremely comfortable and I’ve never had the feeling that they were riding up or falling down when I’m running.
