I bought xxl as I'm 6ft 2, broad shoulders, 36w. Just too small. Gutted as its a lovely jacket, well made.

This is a bargain for £80.

This double-breasted classic jacket is really well made and fits as it should. It has a nice shape and would look best on a slim/toned body. If you're packing rolls I'd go a size bigger or look at different style.

I did wonder why on earth the manufacturer decided to make a red chequered version. What's wrong with black, navy, or a stone/sand colour?

When I was offered this in return for a review I was only offered the red patterned version and wondered who would ever wear such a garish coat. I thought about ordering it just to donate to a homeless shelter, but I'm not sure any self-respecting homeless guys would rock this.

Then I remembered my visually impaired cousin wanted a smart coat for work, bingo! I told him I'd bought him a present and he's over the moon. He can't see a thing but he can feel the quality of the coat and is pleased with it, plus he thinks I'm awesome for treating him.

The jacket fits well (he's a slim build and slightly muscular) and isn't too heavy, so he's delighted. He also thinks he's wearing a charcoal grey coat and has no idea that he looks like a bit of a knob, but what he doesn't know won't hurt him.

This is a really smart, nicely fitting double breasted jacket.

First impressions are of a really good finish - nice neat stitching, nicely lined, with properly defined and edged button holes etc.

The jacket fits perfectly (size 40 / Medium). Sometimes sizing is very much a suck it and see, often one medium is another's small or large! However, I am average for tops / coats etc., medium - and this fits perfectly, and is nicely tailored / shaped as well, unlike some which just hang like a sack....

The material is really nice (navy blue, but almost black), and has a decent soft feel.

The styling I would describe as smart casual - will not look out of place over a suit, or jeans and top / tee shirt.

There are patch pockets with additional side pockets, an inside pocket (with spare buttons), and a really smart button detail on the cuffs.

All in all, this is a stylish jacket, excellent quality, and perfectly suited for day to day wear or special occasions

This is a simple and tidy design. To me it looks best with smart clothes, it does not go with me in jeans and T-shirt. Because of that I thinks it's for wearing out on cool evenings in the town. Also on me it looks better and more trendy when open rather than buttoned up so it mainly for looking smart and keeping the chill off but not for any serious winter use or protection. The material has more of a very dense fleece fibre kind of effect rather than knitted/weaved cloth or wool and it seems very well made with no loose threads. Definitely to be worn as a "best" coat. The Medium fits me perfectly with my 38" chest and when done up it hugs my currently 36" waist but I doubt I'll wear it buttoned up.

This classic navy-blue pea coat fits me very well in M size (I'm 6'0", athletic build). The sleeves could perhaps be a fraction longer, but I do have unusually long arms. It looks very smart, especially when buttoned up (I'm not a fan of unbuttoned double-breasted jackets and coats). My wife thinks it's a bit militaristic, but I'm quite happy wearing it to the office.

The quality of the construction seems pretty good. Turning the collar up provides some extra warmth, but overall this isn't a particularly hot coat. You'd need to look at a thicker, all-wool version for that; but this polyster-blend is obviously much more economical and should still be fine for coping with most UK weather.

It's dry-clean only and comes with a spare button in the inside pocket. Overall I'm pretty impressed.

I got this jacket for my son, who is a very lean 16 year old. He is usually able to fit into a 40-42 depending on style and fit, but this size 40 was extremely small fitting and was far to small for him. I would say the fit was at least a 38, if not a 36... definitely wasn't a high street standard 40. The sleeves were also very short for a mens jacket and they rode up my sons arms.

It is a shame that the sizing is so small, as the jacket itself is a lovely design and colour. Had it fit properly, my son would have loved it. The stitching is sturdy and it is a quality item. I can recommend the coat for design and quality, but I'd buy at least a size or 2 bigger than you would usually wear to get a good fit.
