Pockets = deal breaker

There’s a lot to like about these pants but here’s the dealbreaker: The pockets tear easily. Meaning my keys tore a hole through normal usage, and frankly not even heavy use. I rotate these into my wardrobe with about four or five other pairs of pants.

I don’t understand what the deal is with Lee and pockets. I had the same issue with some of their shorts too.

They actually use a different, weaker mesh-like fabric for their main pockets. The rear pockets are made a different more traditional cotton material and they seem stronger. Why do they use this easy-to-tear stuff for the pocket that holds my keys?

I actually requested Amazon to exchange my pair even though they were out of the return period, but only barely. So that means I only wore these for about 2 months. Amazon graciously exchanged the pants and sent me a new pair.

I hope Lee updates their materials because I like how these pants feel and they are generally a good bargain. But I don’t want to lose my keys! (BTW, I have about 6 keys on my key ring …I’m not a high school janitor with 5 lbs of keys or something like that ….)

I bought a blue pair last year and decided I needed more, but in black. I love the fit and feel of the material. It came Sunday. After seeing it fit, I immediately washed them. Tuesday I wore them. Put my keys in one pocket. They went through to my boots. Then put my closed pocket knife in the other, it also went through. I thought, fine, pockets weren't sewn properly. Wife went to repair the pockets to discover that the material used frayed to the touch. I can't wear them if the pockets are useless.

Bought 2 pair of pants both pairs the seam in the pocket came out first day. This was the only disappointment I had. I was able to buy a patch for the pocket. Because they did fit really well. So beware. The seam will come out first day without a doubt so buy patches for them.
