Beware of Sizing

For the price (I bought it for £55.00) it's a good value - warm, nice outer material, fine colour, feels sturdy. However, as previously noted, it has a bit of a weird, bulky fit in the body. I will keep it due to fact I got it for a low price, and I am hoping that wearing with a sweater will help fill it out, but if I had paid full price, I'd return it. Maybe M would be better, but then I'd run the risk of the arms being too short. Would be a 5* (for price) if they just paid more care to the cut/fit when manufacturing.

I bought this because of Goodthreads' presentation of all-round superiority. Who knew they're all Valley girls?
I live in Canada, but millions of people who live in AK, MT. WY, ND, SD, MN, the UP and WI have colder winters than I.
None of them would tell you this is suitable protection from real winter.
This coat has less down than my 16 year old LLBean parka, after all the wear and washing and work that has done.
Below zero F. this coat could leave you threatened with frostbite.
The faux fur collar lives down to its name, so when removed (of course), the 3" of fabric at the end of the hood just dangles in your face. There is no storage provision, so it must be sewed back inside the hood. Careful of the draw-strings when doing that.
If I lived in VA (or the Valley) this would be a wonderful addition to my Dec.-Feb. wardrobe, because there's no real winter there. All you want is a warm-up coat...like this.
Now i must find a winter parka. Anyone got a suggestion?

I received this today, Jan 22/21 and it was a very cold day at -25C and a wind chill factor to -31C. We had a snow/wind storm last night and I had to snow blow the 70 foot x 35 foot driveway. I was outside for at least 1 hour and at no time did my upper body feel cold. It has a great 2 way zipper which every coat should have if you are getting in an out of a vehicle as I have had many coats lose their zipping function because you could not release the tension on the zipper. Pockets are more than adequate and the real buttons on the outside are much better than those flimsy snaps. I will enjoy for winters to come. Yamer

An sich eine gute Jacke. Sie hält warm und sieht gut aus. Was nervt ist, dass die Jacke viele kleine Daunen verliert, das spiegelt sich dann meistens auf den Oberteile wieder, die man drunter trägt sehr. Bin nicht empfindlich was sowas angeht, aber wenn die Oberteile alle voller kleiner Daunen sind, die sich auch mit einer fusselbürste nur schwer entfernen lassen, dann nervt es einfach. Würde die Jacke daher nur bedingt empfehlen.
