Bought for the Chaco footbed, and they quickly became my favorite pair of shoes

I bought these shoes because I'm a big fan of the Chaco footbed. It fits my feet very well, and I have been wearing Chaco sandals for several years now.

These shoes have quickly become my favorite pair of shoes. I walk about a mile to work most days, so I was looking for a stylish but comfortable shoe to wear for everyday use. After owning these shoes for a little over a month and walking 8-10 miles a week while wearing them, I have been extremely impressed.

If you require arch support, the Chaco footbed is definitely worth trying. I was having issues walking so much in a typical pair of Vans shoes because there is little to no arch support, to the point where my feet were hurting. After wearing these shoes for a few days, I did not experience this issue any more.

I've also been impressed that they show little signs of wear despite how much I've worn them. The typical separations in the places where the shoe bends that are common with Vans are not present in these shoes yet, and the tread on the bottom shows light wear.

The tread is non-slip, doesn't squeak on floors when wet, and does a great job of not tracking mud and dirt. As one might expect, the white bottoms have become slightly discolored, but this could be remedied with a bit of cleaning.

Overall, if you're looking for a comfortable but stylish pair of shoes that go well with most casual clothing, these shoes are definitely worth giving a shot. If you already like Chaco's other offerings like sandals and boots, you'll definitely enjoy wearing these shoes.

Great everyday shoe - reasonable wear

I've had this pair of shoes for just over a year and it has been a great everyday work shoe. You can take a look through the pictures and see the wear and tear from near daily use and a walking commute to and from the office. I've had other types of Chacos before so was open to trying a more formal looking shoe from my water shoes. For the most part, it has lived up to my expectations.

Notable wear, you'll see in the left shoe, the toe section has now formed into a hole. The bottom of the shoe has pretty minimal wear in my opinion, there is still tread. Aesthetically, the inside of the shoe and the external canvas are definitely wearing. One observation is the light color of the sole and the canvas make for easy stain marks, so keep that in mind.

I'd be open to a new pair though wouldn't mind trying something else either.

I wear only Chacos shoes. I love the foot bed. They are wide enough with a round, high toe box. I need the arch support and have plantar faciitus. This particular pair of Davis canvas lace ups pinched my big toe horribly and the foot bed was totally off. Chacos never need breaking in. It's love at first try. That being said, this pair went right back. I won't give up. I will try again in the future. Amazon has a great return policy.

I bought the CHACO MENS DAVIS LACE LOAFER in a size 10 for my 20 yr old son to wear for college classes and general wear. He likes the fit and the support--- he prefers a more flexible sole. The shoe does seem to be a little more wide than others through the toe box and arch area. The heal seems to be a typical fit. The color and style are very versatile and go well with various clothing styles. They can be worn with or without socks--- I would recommend no show socks.

I am very sad that these are becoming hard to find (esp in my preferred Gull Gray). For me, they are basically perfect. They fit my 11.5 US, slightly wide forefoot, paws very nicely and the sole has worn very well in my opinion.

The slip-on Davis is almost as nice, if you can't find these.

I got these for when Chaco sandals might not be as appropriate. What I quickly found out was that these are much more versatile than I thought. These work with jeans, khakis, shorts, etc. They're a great all-around shoe, with classic style, and the great Chaco footbed. The true test came when I traveled with these. I wore them all over the place and walked several miles a day in them. They held up well and still look great!

Super comfy and they don’t make my feet look too big. I highly recommend. Only suggestion is to scotch guard them before you wear them.... they pick up dirt very easily. My son stepped on my foot and left a shoe mark. Other than that they are great! Well made, and comfy. I usually wear Birkenstock’s so to find a closed toe shoe is nice.

Feel great- don't last

Got these shoes for my husband about three months ago- according to him they fit great, very comfortable.

He wore them around the house and at casual Fridays at work- nothing taxing, no heavy use.

This morning he noticed a tear along the sole. I usually associate Chaco with having high quality, especially since I paid 90 bucks for these shoes. I could have spent 40 at an outlet mall for an off brand and gotten a comparable shoe that would have lasted longer.

I hope this is just a manufacturing defect that doesn't affect other people because it really is a nice shoe- just can't recommend.
