Comfortable and they fit!!!

I llike these trousers - at last I have found something that fits me - I have short legs - and these do not need to be adjusted by my wife like so many others. The waist bank is expandable which is ideal for a fat guy like me. These are comfortable and come at a good price.

Being a big fella, while Indulging over the Christmas (and a couple of months prior to that), my actual waist size is 41”. Depending on a cut I can fit comfortably 38”, 40” & 42” on a baggy side.

Being adjustable waist, I ordered 40” thinking this is a reasonable compromise between my actual size and the stretching abilities.

Even during the unpacking the trousers, it was clear I would have to continue with binge indulgence to fit them... way too big.

I’ve measured the waist with the tape measure and noticed actual size is 42” despite label claming to be 40! As mentioned by previous reviewers, QC might be an issue here.

So my next plan is to tray 38” and hopefully it’s a generous one with stretch to 41”...otherwise I might have to skip a few dinners...

Trousers look OK otherwise, nothing to write home about; the only appeal to me is the stretchable waist.

Both fit perfectly - and to be honest, I do need that stretch waist! Chums delivery is remarkably fast (I am in Ireland), and their postal charge is very reasonable. Noe if only they did formal shirts too. Hint, hint!

You get what you pay for. While the waistline is ok the cut is desperate. It looks like I have a birdcage stuck down the front of my trousers. Bought them for a wedding and the only place they are going is in the bin. They are not even worth putting in a charity bag. Also the material is way to light.

Nice quality trouser. I ordered waste size 38" as all of my trousers/jeans are that size albeit stretch ones. Going on the comments about being on the large size I thought I would stick with size 38 rather than go with a 40" which I was going to do originally as this type of trouser is never too generous. When they arrived they would be lucky to fit someone with a 36" waste. At full stretch they still went no where near me. I checked the label to see if they had sent the wrong size but it was definitely 38". I haven't bothered sending them back as its generally more aggrovation than it's worth. As I first stated the quality and cut of the trousers is very good and look very smart indeed but I would order a size up.

Note to self...measure the man child correctly before buying online. Needed a pair of smart but comfy trousers for my eldest son. He had a right cob on about being measured and in my haste to get the task over and done with I must have added a few inches to his waist and inside leg. He refused try them on when they arrived and told me "I'm sure they're fine". They were chucked in the floordrobe and ignored for over a week.

The cob on was worsened by the fact they came far too long and too large... my name firmly imprinted in the bad books we had a mad dash to find a pair of trousers in the house suitable for a funeral the next morning! I didn't send them back (maybe he'll grow into them??) and I cant leave a bad review because I can't use a measuring tape on a grumpy teenager who hates anything but tracksuit bottoms. On the plus side he did like the feel of the material and said they would have been comfy if they had been the right size (ouch!)

The trouser were of the expected quality, and the legs of the right length. Unfortunately they were of a high-rise cut which meant that when put on they fell too low giving the impression of having two marsupial pouches above the knees and being too long. Another pair ordered at the same time were fine, being of a different design.

So pleased with these trousers bought for my father! Dad is 96 and was a big tall man with one of those huge stomachs. His waist size has always been 48". Lately he's lost a huge amount of weight and is now down to a 42" waist. I have bought him trousers in this size from other retailers but strangely theyve come up too small and have had to be returned. These trousers from Chums however are the perfect fit, even quite roomy and its because they are good quality, properly tailored and a nice fabric. The other brands definitely scrimped with the fabric in comparison, hence the poor fit. I definitely feel if you are buying for a more elderly person these are a good choice. Will be buying more pairs from Chums!
