comfortable for feet but not knees

I wanted solid, inflexible soles like the "doctor's" sandals that I wore out years ago but the doctor's now cost four times what these do. I thought that the angled heels might roll like rocker soles, but they don't; I feel every step in my ageing knees. These sandals are what I expected, I suppose, but not what I hoped.

I wear European 42, US 10, and bought the largest available, 40. They're just a tiny bit short at the heel but that doesn't matter. I adjusted the toe strap for comfort by sliding the strap sideways in the loop and pulling the loop very tightly around the strap.

Sizes run a little small

The shoes were really pretty and light. I ordered the largest size available because I wear and 8.5 but my feet are wide so often I end up needed to order one size up to accommodate. Despite that they are still a bit too small. I have bought US 9.5 before but this is smaller than that. That aside they are beautiful and well made for the price. I'll be giving them to my 10 year old.

Run Small. Size 37 measures just under 9 inch. That’s a size 6.
Glue on bottom of shoes is excessive and noticeable. Not thrilled. They have much thinner shoe bed than photos.

The shoe is ok but doesn't match the description. If you look at the photos, there is a much smaller arch in reality compared to the description pics. It is also very narrow so don't buy if you have wide feet. I am used to wearing wooden shoes like these but because they are so narrow they aren't comfy. Also, not sure if you can tell from the photos but only the top part of the shoe is varnished. The bottom and sides are not. Would I buy again? No.

These are comfortable and cute except the straps tend to really stretch causing the shoe to become very loose and there are splinters in the front portion of the shoe where the straps between the toes are. The splinters needed to be removed because they kept poking the bottom of my feet.
