Bought these shoes to wear for work, in the security sector. My reasoning was that as these are classed as safety boots then they would be able to take some punishment. And on the whole after two weeks of heavy use I am fairly pleased with them. If they last me 1- 2 years then I will be happy enough.
The material is thick with plenty of double and triple stitching around the leather uppers. The tongue and collar are well padded. And the toe, heel, and soles have the type of reinforcement required for site work.
The insoles are surprisingly good quality, thick, with good cushioning. They are removable so can be washed. Or you can swap them out for your own if you want.
I wanted boots that were waterproof enough to walk through standing water and had the opportunity to walk through a footpath flooded from a nearby river and these kept my feet completely dry.
The only concerns I have are the eyelets which are plastic and the back of the shoe which slants down, presumably to give more movement around the ankle. I would prefer a level top to protect and support the lower calf and achilles tendon. But maybe that's just me.
Overall, I think these are good value for the price. They appear to be solidly made, and clearly offer good protection for a number of professions.
