Where is the weight?

I haven't bought a pair of Levis since 2010. I've loads of pairs but most are now looking their age. I had a look around online, looked at the Levis website, found a pair that I liked, cross referenced around various other websites and found Amazon to be one of the cheapest (forty quid cheaper than the Levis website). Ordered and delivered by Amazon with their usual quick and efficient delivery service. First thoughts? The weight of the jeans. I remember Levis being heavy cotton. There are not. The quality is still there, the stitching etc, but lack of weight. The 527 fit suits my build, I like tight around the bum and thigh, bootcut around the ankles. These jeans meet that. My only slight negative is, 527's fit below the waist. No big deal. They also don't have a 31 inside leg, only 30 (too short) and 32 (too long), so I've a pair of 32 long which will look crumpled around the shoes but I can live with that too. Overall, a good fitting pair of jeans, quality made at a good price for Levis. Recommended.

Levi 527 bargain = the most obvious FAKES

I was so happy I found these 527 Levis at the knock down price of £34 "Items dispatched from Amazon EU Sàrl", guaranteed genuine direct from Amazon surely. I ordered my normal size 32/30 (I have 2 pairs on the go the same already).

Confident they would fit me like a glove I ripped all labels off and took them with me on a weekend trip. As soon as I put them on it was so obvious they were fake, they are about 2 inches longer than they should be, much thinner denim, the leather patch label is nothing like the levi one (see pic), the main button is cheap and un-stamped with code at the back as it should be (see pic) and the cut is different.

I had to wear them as it was all I had but I washed them on my return and am sending back for a refund. When I washed them the print on the leather patch washed off!

Fairly sure these are not genuine Levi's. Belt loops not stitched as one would expect. Main fastening stud hole not stitched at all and fraying already. Details on the large label on back are not in line with the genuine article e.g. "Lot" for model name and no red ink.

As others have stated I have my doubts these are genuine Levi jeans. I have been wearing 527 for over 20 years and I understand that Levi don’t make 527 anymore (they have been replaced by 514) but I have always loved the way 527 fit and sit over my 6” boots... so why do I think these are not genuine, 1) they do not have the stretch genuine 527 have. 2) the labelling on the back is a different colour to every pair I have owned, 3) the stitching and the seam seem to be in a different position. 4) the boot cut seems to be flares (not a bad thing if you want to impersonate John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever)! I have decided to keep mine (why you may ask) and it is simply to walk the dog

Not sure they'll keep their shape

I've been a loyal Levi's customer over the years but the most recent pairs of jeans I've bought of theirs have become horribly out of shape and started sagging in all the wrong places. I purchased a couple of new pairs of 527's which fitted perfectly when they arrived but after only a couple of washes (30 degrees too) they are already starting to lose their shape. I'm not a fan of the crotch around the knees look but I think after a couple of months I might get there with these!

Perhaps I should have gone for a smaller size so they were so tight it takes 10 minutes to put them on and you can't sit down... but if they never stretched to fit then that's £60+ down the drain! I'm not really sure what the best advice is, so I would advise caution. They look great on the day you buy them but the illusion is soon lost.

Also worth mentioning they have a very strong smell for the first couple of washes. I suspect it's the elastane in them but they smell like a bicycle inner tube and it's very noticeable and not pleasant.

Unfortunately I think I'll be looking for another brand next time.

What I dislike the most is being asked to review a product that was returned..

I returned the Levi's 527 on my order as the cut and fir were nowhere near as comfortable as a pair of 501's.

The waist is to low, crotch area to short. And for some reason when on they feel like someone is pulling the seams in the crotch area backward between my legs.

This review is not really of the Jean's, it's more for the lack of thought by Amazon Wardrobe for not making sure the 527s appear to be reviewed when they were returned.

Buying clothing online is always a bit hit and miss, But these are Levi Jeans, so what happened to the quality the material is thin and rubbishy, not what you want when you pay good money, could they be fakes ??? cannot recommend these as they are rubbish

I have purchased at least six pairs of Levis 527 Slim Boot Cut in the past... be warned, these are one of the worst fakes I have seen. Intended as 34W 32L, actual waist measurement is approx. 29"!!! However, the leg length is ridiculous at 34".

I am a massive fan of Amazon, I'm a Prime member and use them for almost everything. However, they really need to get on top of resellers/suppliers providing fake items... mainly jeans and perfumes in my experience.

These Levis have a few tell-tale signs: i) Meant to be red label on 527 Slim Boot Cut - it's not ii) The 527 Slim Boot Cut are meant to have 3-5% elasticine - those received do not. ii) Cut is not awful but they are at least three sizes out!

Buyers beware!

I'm not convinced these are genuine Levis as I've worn nothing but Levis for the last 20 years and the quality and feel doesn't seem a high-end pair of jeans I'd expect.

One thing I noticed immediately was a vile smell which, not only remained after a wash, but made other clothes in the same wash stink aswell. I didn't notice the lack of quality until after the wash, hence I couldn't return. They are simply now just 'not a bad pair of jeans' that I wear out walking the dog. The other thing after the wash, was the immediate fluffing of the fabric. Most levis remain as they are for years, whereas these seem to wear as though a high St budget store which (for legal purposes) may (or may not) rhyme with the word Drypark.

Anyway, I would avoid if you're looking for the genuine thing. Pretty sure these aren't genuine levis...

I give 2 stars for prompt delivery and 'not a bad pair of jeans' but definitely not worth the money...

These Levi’s have always been my favourite. I have narrow hips but they cling on perfectly, I only wear the belt for added cool. The back pockets fit so comfortably around my buttocks they resemble two boiled eggs in a handkerchief but I can still sit down comfortably. The crotch of these jeans is a delight, cupping my testicles in glorious cocoon of denim. The fit at the thigh is just tight enough that you can count the change in my pocket but I can still walk around, it would be more accurate to say strut when I’m wearing these amazing trousers. Being boot cut they swing out over my cowboy boots in such a way you can only guess at how cool they look and the hem just gracefully brushes the sole. No soaking up the puddles with these beauties. I can honestly say the purchase of these jeans has given me a new lust for life, I’ll be ordering more as soon as I feel I can handle the excitement.
