Who needs a Schoffel

The posh lads at work all wear fleece gilets. Despite my significant income, large house with detached garage containing an executive saloon car and multiple foreign holidays, I was not privately educated and was therefore a little reticent about committing to the purchase of a Schoffel. I purchased this as a tester, to prove to myself that I deserved a posh fleece gilet. Needless to say, I was delighted with the product, and all the chaps at work have followed suit and switched over to Regatta.

has an ‘r’ stuck on the back in a small square near the bottom. Company was trying to have me believe that the ‘r’ was a Regatta logo father than ‘r’ for reject.. Still, i5 was cheap and will do for indoors as wasn’t worth postage to return

Totally perfect fit. Brought the XL which translates to a L for me. Found it to be roomy enough for a wooly jumper underneath but breathable too as I am wearing this unpadded gillet whilst gardening during the late wet, cooler Summer months early in the morning, and will be for the forthcoming Autumn/Winter months. Material is soft, and not being padded I anticipate will be very comfortable and not hot and sweaty whatever the weather. I recently bought a gillet from an online auction site but the zip split upon first use, it was also padded which I found irritable and uncomfortable. The zip on this is very smooth and seems well made. Love the colour too. My only advice is to order a size larger than normal. I am 6ft, 13st and have put on a bit of weight during lockdown, so where as a medium chest I would ordinarily have ordered a large, in this case as stated, I ordered the XL, which is a good fit without being too snug. Great value, great buy. Gets my 10+. ***********!

Just to note - 1 year down the line, it's now October 2021 and this gillet is still standing the test of time. I always wear it when out gardening, painting fences, cleaning the windows, infact any outdoor work and it's still so comfortable, the zip still works perfectly too. As stated, buy a size or two larger so you can wear a hoodie or jumper underneath if required, but whatever the weather, I find just wearing this over a Tee is more than enough for me. Totally satisfied with this purchase.

A useful extra layer

I bought this to wear over a thicker fleece when I just wanted a bit more warmth (so being lightweight, it's ideal) and I'm anticipating being able to wear it over a tee-shirt in the Summer (if we ever have one) on chilly evenings. I deliberately bought a size above what I would normally wear (so that I can wear it over sleeved thick fleece) and it's proved ideal. Some other reviews have pointed out that the side pockets do not have zips, which is perfectly true, but I don't see that as a problem - for a start, it doesn't irritate your wrists if you want to put your hands in your pockets! It washes very well, dries quickly, doesn't appear to shed or 'pill' and so I think it's excellent value all round. And purely cosmetically, I like the contrast-colour trim of the inside of the collar...

Just what I wanted, warm, lightweight, fits perfectly (and I'm a female!), and doesn't restrict movement. Perfect for pensioners like me, who can't or don't want to have the heating on all day. These fill in the periods when the weather is bad, and the house gets a little cooler than you'd like it. A certain energy company should put its money where it's mouth is, and provide them free for all pensioner customers! Yes, you can get heavier ones by paying more, but they will restrict you more indoors, and probably won't be much warmer. I prefer these, and I think I'll get some more when I can afford it, to add a little bit more warmth to my favourite coat and jacket.

This is a great summer body warmer (well, where I live, you need these even in the summer!).
Generally the item is well made though for those who do not wish to wear outdoor kit, as such, the bright orange ties for the zip and the bright blue collar liner may not be to everyone's taste.
I have a selection of body warmers and this one compares well with the others I already have. So overall a good buy and I would buy it again if I wanted a thin fleece body warmer again. Possibly in a different colour. :-)

I bought this primarily for golfing and ended up buying a second one.
It's very light and surprisingly warm, but the obvious freedom to swing a golf club (however badly) is great.
The slip pockets are really useful and the collar is comfortable up or down.
The fit was perfect- nice and neat without being restrictive and it's extremely comfy to wear.

I bought one of these and liked it enough to go back and buy a second one in a different colour. They are very lightweight. I wear them over a light fleece to trap a bit more body heat to keep me warm and for that purpose they are very effective. And at the price I can't fault them. The weather isn't currently cold enough to fully rug up, but this is perfect for late autumn/early winter chilliness when over a jumper.

I like this product it is good for layering up in the winter months but also useful for those chilly nights in the spring or summer. Can be worn with outdoor clothing but looks just as good as smart casual dress. On a negative note the deliveryman dropped it off at the wrong address, an house at the bottom of my road, fortunately for me the householder was honest and ensured that I got it.

For the price you cant go wrong at all, lovely soft warm fleece, excellent for the cooler autumn evenings and can be worn under other layers if needed.

My only complaint is the picture clearly shows zips on the side pockets, however mine doesn't have zips just open pouch pockets, but they are rather deep so may prove to be of some use.

Overall I'm very happy and would recommend this item all day long.
