Merrell has been my go to shoe for years. However, the last two pair I purchased have been sub par at best. Wore out much quicker than usual and this last pair never felt "right". The backs would bunch up, internally, and feel weird. Very disappointed. Have gone to another brand. Sorry Merrell....

I purchased these shoes thinking of the quality Blisters Blisters Blisters I have wore off and on for about 6 weeks and every time blisters I walk about an hour a day I have to wait 4 days before I can wear again I would not recommend these shoes I wish I was able to return So uncomfortable Total waste of money

The Wide sizing fits great and very comfortable but they are NOT waterproof at all. My socks get soaked even if small amount of water/snow/slush gets on shoe.

These shoes are like walking with bricks on your feet. I would be returning them, but missed the deadline. Very stiff shoe, not much padding. The left toe box doesn't fit well at all. They feel smaller than the Merrell 13 W pair I have. They are water proof. Not easy on your feet at all. 13000 steps in these shoes is all my feet could take. Very stiff, clunky is the best word I have for them.

I have worn the MOAB for years, both for work and pleasure. They have been an excellent shoe for trekking through the woods, especially with the waterproof lining. I normally go through a pair every 6 months and I can generally order the same size every time and wear them right out of the box as extremely comfortable. But the pair I bought last September was just not that comfortable and this latest pair purchased in March feels like the shoe is a narrow, but Merrell does not make a narrow that I know of. They now come with a removable liner that is paper thin - I replace the factory liner with a good walking shoe liner before I even put them on my feet. I wore them for a 6 hour hike last week and it took 3 days for my feet to recover. I am currently looking for another brand that might bring back the comfort of the old Merrell.

Just not the same

This is my second pair of Merrell’s shoes. The first pair which was of similar design, was an amazing shoe that I walked over multilevel continents with. This pair, I wouldn’t trust to walk over a sand box in the local park. The shoe fits, but that is about all I can say for it. The laces require frequent reties, and the grip on of the sole is nearly non existent. I wouldn’t trust it on a walk across a bathroom floor. The construction of the shoe seems sound, but it lacks that quality build that the last pair had. Furthermore the comfort and support is seriously lacking. I am really disappointed but will keep wearing them for a few more weeks in hopes that they will break in and give me that same sense of comfort and stability that my first pair had.

I have had several pairs of these shoes and I think I have figured out the issue.

I love how they fit and feel and how they handle in muddy and outdoor terrain (biologist).

I hate how they claim to be water-proof and are not. First pair I had lost the water-proofing after two years and three hikes on the PCT (4-5 miles hikes). I gave them the benefit of doubt and thought that it could just be the age and that they had been stored.

Got another set, lost water-proofing in two months...

Got one more set and they were never water proof since I got them...

I would say that the "quality" of these shoes was marginal at best but now they don't even try to hide the fact that they aren't water-proof.

I have even reached out to Merril about the issues I have had and can't even get an email response back.

Seller was great, no issues at all with them.
