Great outdoor trousers at a reasonable price

I am a long time wearer of Craghoppers trousers (usually the regular Kiwi's) and find them really comfy. I thought I would give the Kiwi Pro's a try for a change and I'm glad I did! These are lovely and comfy, rain just runs off them and they are reasonably warm too! They are slimmer in the leg than the regular Kiwi's (which is a good thing for me). I have been wearing these to the office - I work in a steelworks so it isn't a "smart" dress type office - and paired with a company polo shirt they look great. Cant fault them at all.

Great trousers, spoiled by terrible quality construction

I like these trousers a lot - both for the cut, and for the comfort that comes with the slightly stretchy material. I have been buying them for years, and will probably keep doing so - but I have to say I hate the construction quality ! Just about every pair I have owned has failed in some way - mostly with bursting or sticking zips, and invariably with the waist button popping off (and I'm not tight-waisted!). I realise I can just sew it back on again - and indeed I normally do - but this latest example (purchased just 2 months ago) sets an entirely new trend. The button itself has failed ! The plastic in the centre of the "hub" (centre of the 4 holes, see picture) has fractured, allowing the button to just fall off. As you see, these are specially-procured, custom buttons, lovingly inscribed with CRAGHOPPERS - and yet they fail ! I have replaced it with a metal one. The replacement says LEVI. That makes me feel better.

these craghopper kiwi pro trousers are very good, very comfortable stretchy material and they dry themselves in just a few minutes, the only thing i don't like is the side pocket has been moved to the front of the leg just above the knee and everything in the pocket slips round the back of the leg, and it is noew necessary to hold the pocket whilst using the zipper, very awkward: whoever changed the design should get sacked. it's rubbish..

Craghoppers changed design no good

I have three pairs of the older style kiwi pro in various colours, I love the stretch in them, great fit, the good quality strong zips, the left side cargo pocket, the length for me is always perfect a 32s, for my mountain & coastal walks.
I fancied a new dark blue pair, I had heard the style had changed a little but wasnt deterred as I think Craghoppers do great gear.
The dark blue colour was nice, but when I tried them on, they were way too baggy around my bum & legs & also about an inch too long, same size ordered ..32s. The side pocket now gone & moved onto your right thigh & is a complete waste of time, I used to put maps in my older side pocket, but now can't put them on my right thigh..useless.
Also the zips have gone tiny & thin & seemed rather weak compared to my other pairs.
So all in all I think these are crap compared to the older design & wont be buying anymore in this design, shame really as I really like my older ones ..come on craghoppers do us a favour, go back to older design.

Not as good as they use to be

I have had three pair of these trousers before I bought this one and they have been excellent. The design has changed and they are certainly not as good now. Why change a successful product? zip pocket on the front of my leg instead of the side is ridiculous. Cant use it for anything other than paper as it sticks out. Product description stated glasses wipe in pocket but it wasn't there. Compared with the previous edition I am disappointed. Craghopper please go back to the previous design.

Changed quite a lot

Way too baggy compared to last ones I bought, material is much thinner too. The seams are not stitched in the same way, so poor in fact I actually wondered if they are back door copies. Wearing them for the allotment as they really are not up to the job that my previous ones (also bought from Amazon) are.

Do Amazon actually check on the stuff their independant sellers are putting out there?

Item has no craghoppers tag's attached and wasn't in a usual clear bag as previous craghoppers trousers.
Item has dog or cat hairs on trouser leg's and also a brown mark on outside lower leg, also item is extremely creased to an extent that I don't think any amount of steam ironing will remove. I paid for brand new trousers and this is the 3rd item in the last couple of months that has been delivered used and not as advertised, not good Amazon .

Nothing like as good as the previous design

I am a longstanding customer of Craghoppers Men's Kiwi Pro Trousers, I spend a lot of time walking and I have had six pairs previously. For some reason they have changed the design, it's quite obvious that the person responsible for the changes is not a walker, in fact they probably never tried them on a walker because there are so many faults.
1) The leg pocket has been moved from the side onto the front, previously I could drop a map into it or my specs but now that's impossible because of its location.
2) The zips on the pockets are extremely difficult to operate and in fact one mine one had been stitched shut.
3) The material is inferior, it looks permanently crumpled.
4) The sizing is completely to pot, they are much bigger around the waist than previously and there is enough room around the crotch for a nappy.
I sent mine back and am now on the look out for an alternative.

THE PRO VERSION HAS POCKETS ON THE KNEES

Have used Kiwi trousers for many years but this new version (PRO) has pockets in the knees not to the side on the calf. This makes it impractical for work purposes if you want extra pockets to normal side pockets.

Only one star as I have to put one to review. These are NOT Pro Active trousers as we all know them. Very cheap looking, pocket on the front of the thigh I useless, no tape inside the bottom hem to stop wearing against boots, the knees are no longer shaped. Looks as if Craghopper have cut a lot of corners to reduce costs. I have six pairs of the old style Pro Actives and love them but if this is what’s in store for us I’ll be looking for a replacement manufacturer.
