How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsGreat value

Bought from Amazon themselves rather than a reseller. Quality very good for the price; they worked out under £3 each. Not quite as heavyweight as the label "Heavy" might suggest but not the thin and nasty cheap budget t-shirts some retailers sell at this price point. Not as soft as some vintage FOTL t-shirts I've owned in the past but hopefully they will soften with washing. Seamless at the sides, the only stitching is sleeves and shoulders. No sign of loose threads or any quality issues at all. Overall very happy and very glad I went with this choice rather than a much more expensive designer brand or a budget supermarket option.

1.0 out of 5 starsAwful Damaged Remainder T-shirts
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 June 2018
Awful rip-off Damaged Remainder T-shirts. Every one of them defective where hem stitching unravels virtually immediately. And definitely not the`Heavy` type as advertised as these are really very thin and light.
Amazon is seemingly awash with these online sellers pushing cheaply bought Defective Remainders from the big name manufacturers and then being utterly deceitful in advertising them as normal stock when they know they are almost all entirely defective. Disgusting practices.
Bought from Bowls4u TA 4UTrading Group, but also have had same exact problem from three other sellers here advertising Fruit Of The Loom shirts.
Never again.

2.0 out of 5 stars NOT 'HEAVY', BRANDED 'ORIGINAL'
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 July 2019

The tee shirt felt light and thin so no surprise when the label stated it as a Fruit of the Loom 'Original'. I have other FTOL tee shorts, both a 'Valueweight' and a 'Heavy' and both are much thicker and heavier. The seller must be honest and state what these are - ie 'Original' and not 'Heavy'. They cannot make up their own description, it must match what FOTL label them as.

2.0 out of 5 stars You get the quality that you pay for.

Advertised as "Heavy" but the shirts are quite thin and do not feel as though they are made from high quality cotton. They are "scratchy" and feel like a synthetic mixture. I usually wear a medium size in casual garments (38 to 40 inch chest size) and they are often slightly too big for me, depending on the brand but these T shirts are skin tight. Being of such thin material it makes them look ridiculous. Due to them being so cheap I'll not bother to return them as the cost of postage simply wouldn't be worth it. I'll not buy Fruit of the Loom again. Not the size or quality that I remember from years ago.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worse company is have ever dealt with on Amazon
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 June 2021
Size: XLColour: White/Grey/BlackVerified Purchase
The product arrived late and was not as described, they were not 'heavy', unless they were going off 3 in a packet. I was dubious if they were actually genuine and not fakes. When I rang them the person was rude, loudmouthed and very unhelpful. She wanted me to prove they were not heavy! I said that as the seller had not defined the description I was entitled to my own interpretation. Eventually they agreed to refund me and emailed me a return 48hr tracked label. When the refund did not appear I contacted them again and they asked me again to confirm the weight! I think they deliberately delayed refunding my money. If I could leave less than 1 star I would. If the company reads this take note that your customer service is non existent, your staff are rude and unhelpful and your products are not as described. I was polite and respectful throughout but that was not reciprocated. Selling is a two way process!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice shirts but weak stitching

Really liked these shirts when I got them, I've worn the white ones for ages but fancied a change. Unfortunately after a couple of months, two of them have ripped at the collar :( I don't know if it's a bad batch or what but it's a little disappointing as they are only worn a couple of times a week.

Amazon Customer
5.0 out of 5 stars True to sizing guide and great quality
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 August 2020
Size: LColour: WhiteVerified Purchase
I ordered these so I could make myself some individual and unique t-shirts with the use of different colour dyes.
I ordered large as cotton usually shrinks a little on the first few washes and factoring in the dying process. They are definitely a good large and the heavier cotton adds to the quality. So I would confidently say they are true to size and order the size you would normally.
Once I have made them unique I’ll add some pictures but in the meantime they are good as a plain decent quality product worth the money 👍

5.0 out of 5 stars Bargain
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 September 2018

I was a bit sceptical of these after reading a lot of the reviews but at £2.70ish a pop I didn't mind the gamble - I used to wear Fruit of the loom stuff 20+ years ago for P.E at school, and school sweatshirts etc and they seemed to last forever so the brand has a good reputation with me anyway.

All 3 Tees received were of a high quality, really nice thick cotton, double stitched, fit like an absolute dream. I only wear these for bed, under polo shirts or dress shirts anyway so they didn't have to be excellent - just functional, but they're excellent regardless and I can imagine them lasting many a year as long as they're not washed with colours than run - the fact there's no branding at all on them helps for when wearing light shirts with a thin material as a lot of my designer polos are, it kinda defeats the object of a £160 designer label top if Fruit of the loom is ghosting through the material.

I'll be buying another pack of 3 soon once I know I'll be in for a delivery, you can never really have too many plain white Tees as a man.

1.0 out of 5 stars Definitely Not "Heavy"
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 May 2021

I purchased the same size and colour Fruit of The Loom T-Shirts from Amazon back in May 2019 and they were fine. Purchased these from the same seller in April 2021 (exactly same description) and they are awful. They are massive and the underarms actually stand out when wearing them. Also, I kept thinking to myself "no way are these as thick as my last order" and this morning I rolled them up and popped both on some postage scales to weigh them. As I suspected . . . previously ordered shirt 315g (don't forget, it was oversized too) this newest shirt was only 230g. Like all the other reviews who state the same, they are cheap enough to wear around the house to work in but you would not want to wear it going out. It's about time sellers became more honest in their descriptions.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the same quality as previous purchases …

I purchased the x3 white T-shirt’s pack, packaging was fine and as I’d expect an item of this nature to be packed.

Delivery time was fine and in-line with the estimated time period.

The label is marked as heavy cotton which it definitely is not, it has a translucency to it.

The fitting was smaller that my older T-shirt’s of the same brand and didn’t fit as well.

I purchased them to wear under jumpers and shirts. They just about were okay for me to just keep them but I’m not sure I’d get them again from this vendor.

X3 T-shirt’s they were still reasonably priced hence not returning them and just keeping them.
