How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

4.0 out of 5 starsGreat interpol tale featuring espionage, architecture and lots of guns
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 April 2019
A ripping yarn with an absolutely astonishing set piece - a shoot-out in Guggenheim Museum New York! Clive Owen rather intense in his part and a little annoying but a story, based on truth, well told and immaculately filmed across many cities. Iconic modern architecture is the other star, worth viewing for the fabulously opulent buildings alone. Worth watching the extra featuring how they filmed the Guggenheim Museum sequence.

I bought this on recommendation from a friend and I must say I question he's taste as this is one really awful over ratted film,it's slow to get into and boring and has Clive Owen in it one of the the most mediocre actors I have ever seen honestly it isn't even worth £4.00 maybe 50 pence if you are lucky.

Gisli Jokull Gislason
1.0 out of 5 stars Drab
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 August 2009
-"The IBBC is a bank. Their objective isn't to control the conflict, it's to control the debt that the conflict produces. You see, the real value of a conflict, the true value, is in the debt that it creates. You control the debt, you control everything. You find this upsetting, yes? But this is the very essence of the banking industry, to make us all, whether we be nations or individuals, slaves to debt."

There you have it, the only good part of the movie that was sad to say nothing. No real suspence or even a clever plot. What plot there was wasn't clever at all. Actually "slaves to dept" was a clever observation and if that hadn't been the total input of this interesting angle the movie might have been rather good. That and aside from the fact that arms sales too are very profitable (ask Lord of War - Recommended).

What we have we have seen somewhere better before including Naomi Watts and Clive Owen. Super hitmen do not give me a hard on and then I could go watch Hitman (not recommended). Some have mentioned the shootout at the Guggenheim Museum as some masterpiece. Well the Guggenheim Museum is a masterpiece and if in New York look it up. The shootout adds nothing to this.

On the whole a very unsatisfying experience and a waste of time.

1.0 out of 5 stars The names' Owen.. Grumpy Owen
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 June 2009
Hopeless boring 'international' thriller with a lead man who never deviates from his unremitting 'i'm really really angry and i'm going to do what it takes so get out of my way NOW' persona.

There a holes a plenty in the plot. The script is ponderous. The direction bitty.

We do get to jet around the world and the shoot out at the Guggenheim is cool... if a little stupid in the sense that it takes hours for the police to arrive.

But.. it's the stupid, portentious 'the world is evil and it's all those greedy bankers' fault' that grinds you down. That and Grumpy Owen's not stop Mr Angry face...

1.0 out of 5 stars What happened to Tom Tykver?
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 August 2009
Another Tykwer turkey. I always had high hopes for Tykwew's work after seeing the Princess and the Warior and Heaven. Since and Perfume and (I suspect) American money, its all been downhill. This could have been a good movie. given the subject matter. But just as happened with perfume, the prommise was lost due (largely) lame cast and crass dialogue. The plot is so niavely transparent, that its just not worth watching. What is that stupid shootout a the Guggenheim about? I think Tykwer needs to get back to what he is really good at and stop pandering to half wits. Make some good German cinema and get out of holywood before its too late mate!

1.0 out of 5 stars Such a boring movie
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 November 2009
I can't believe how dull this movie was. The highlight for me was when he walked in to the bank and they'd canceled his meeting so he flips out 'I HAD A MEETING ARRANGED!'. Thats about as dramatic as it gets...

1.0 out of 5 stars Never again...
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 September 2010
You are falsely promised from other cover of the dvd and the information available that this is an action film with twisting plotline which keeps you hooked. What you get is one of the worst films I have ever seen in my life. You have to wait until half way through the film for the first action scene, which is also the last action scene of the film. And on top of that you have to sit through Clive Owen's cringing dramatic voice which he gives to every line. Do not buy this film it is not worth 50p from a second hand sale.

1.0 out of 5 stars Kinofilme über böse Banken
