"Something has found us"

This movie put me on the edge of my seat. It is a found footage movie following people that have just survived this 'attack' (I won't say who or what is attacking otherwise it might spoil the film) and the found footage part makes it look really realistic. If you can get through the first 20 minutes of talking and getting to know the characters then that is really when the action starts and it doesn't really stop from there. The scene 20 minutes in is amazing! The movie has mixed emotions- it can be sad, happy or action packed and there are a few shocking moments as well. Being a found footage film it does mean it is on a recording camera so if you are not a fan of the camera constantly shaking maybe it isn't for you but otherwise it's excellent. It is certainly worth it for the price. Be sure to check out the sequel 10 Cloverfield Lane [DVD] [2016] which is a change of genre but also looks good.

Hard to watch.

10 Cloverfield Lane was well recommended so I thought I’d get the prequel as well.
I found it almost unwatchable. Too much hysteria and shouting and too much jerky camera with a party lead in of very little relevance yet given loads of run time.
An experience but one I don’t want to repeat.

My 2 year old some how rented this Within 5 min of getting without the tv on when I picked up fire stick remote and pressed loads of random buttons.
So as he rented it I watched it. Only thing I can say that it was a waste of my time and money. Not seen anything this bad in a while

Camera jumps all over the place so much it makes you feel travel sick. Film makers must realise this method of filming is absolutely rubbish. Watched about 40 minutes worth and had to give up and I don't care what happens in the end either. I won't be buying Cloverfield 2 because of this experience and I shall make sure everyone I know hears this.

We were recommended to go and see this movie at the cinema whilst studying for our Media Studies A levels however I never got chance and wasn't overly keen on the idea as I'm not a big sci-fi fan. However, when I watched a couple more trailors and saw the DVD on amazon I thought why not? and bought it. Big mistake. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting big storylines about the charcters as I knew the film was all about a monster in NYC. I was worried before I put the movie on when I noticed just how short the movie was - its not much over an hour. The film started off ok and the hand held camera work didn't bother me - although I can see why it might bother others. However the problem I have with this film is that after watching it all the way through it just ends, no conclusion or official ending. Its almost as if the film just ends about 20 or 30 minutes before maybe it should have done? I was really dissapointed, I even watched the credits through to the end, determined that that could not have possibly been the end to the film. Total waste of time and money in my opinion, I only hope that sci-fi fans enjoy it a little more than I did.

From the trailer this looked a good movie but I have to say for me one of the most disappointing I have bought for some time. I guess in reality it's one of those "love it or hate it" movies and I'm afraid for me it was the latter. Although the story could be interesting, it never really gets going and you're really not sure where it's going. To begin with the constant use of a hand held movie camera is ok but it soon becomes irritating.
Sorry folks but it was not for me. The best value content is without doubt the end credits which must run a full 5 minutes!

Given the hype surrounding the film, it turned out to be a complete let down. Similiar to "The Blair Witch Project" in that the camera work is carried out by one of the characters. But there's not so much as a single scene which would make the most nervous of humans jump or scream.

The whole film is basically following a dull chase of boring characters through the city streets so that the hero can save his girlfriend. How endearing...
