Varying quality. Go one size up.

The quality of these ‘European’ jackets is not the quality of the USA made products. The zips are the same quality but the leather is inferior and also the craftsmanship of the stitching can be poor. Due to a small defect in the first jacket, sizing issue in the second, it was third time lucky for me. The first two jackets were meant to be the same size but varied in length of body, chest size and arm length. The first jacket (which had a torn lining) had good stitching but not so good quality leather. The second had better leather but stitching wasn’t uniform. The third (I went a size up) had good leather, good uniform stitching and fitted well. I’m a proper 45” chest and required a 2XL. These jackets do provide a good fit. Unlike so many cheaper jackets that by the time they fit your chest are enormous around the waist. These are a little tapered. Overall the jackets provide decent value for money compared to their American counterparts which are 3/4 times the price and almost impossible to get. Also, a lot of my criticism would go unnoticed by most. I’m very fussy and observant. Measurements of 2XL - 26.75” back length from collar seam. Sleeve from shoulder 27.5”. Shoulder to shoulder 20”. Pit to pit 25”. Hope this helps.

I totally dislike poor finishing on left sleeve re very wrinkled worn distressed look. The rest of the jacket is smooth and well finished and is a great fit. Why does it have to be ruined by lack of quality control on this sleeve?
Is the leather used on this portion some leftovers or sub standard?

Superb jacket for this price of one hundred and five pounds ( free delivery incl). Ordered one size larger than suggested on fitting chart to accomodate thin jersey or hoody.Good arm length. This is apparently made outside of the US for the European market and is probably not as high quality as the US offering but who cares at this price. Not a serious biker's jacket (no armour) but has the style. Great service from Amazon and swift delivery .

May 2015 Review - now 4 months after purchase - Two pocket linings have ripped and are unusable due to poor stiching and (looks like) unsuitable cloth. Lining showing signs of wear with white inner lining begining to show through stitch holes . So, nowhere near as durable as I had expected Price has also rocketed to an unreasonable £200

I've have quite a few really nice top brand leather jackets and thought I'd add this Schott jacket to my collection, and I can honestly say I was not disappointed! The jacket is a super nice, and made of the best quality selected hides. This jacket could easily be selling for twice the price . The jacket I bought fits like a glove, just as a leather jacket should, without looking like a saggy baggy bin liner. If you are looking for a really nice leather jacket that looks great and don't want to spend a £1000 on other top brands then don't hesitate to get one of these! Believe me you won't be disappointed!!! The jacket is a fairly heavy jacket, but not overly so, but isn't one of those millions of cheap lightweight jackets that litter the net. Get one while you can! As I said, you will not be disappointed!!!

Best leather jacket out there for the price

This might be the best value going in a leather jacket. The leather is thick and soft, and the details and stitching are perfect. Great fit, the waist is slightly narrower than the chest so there is no boxy-ness happening. The zipper is awesome. This is honestly much nicer in terms of details than I expected.

Regarding fit, I have a 41 inch chest and longer than average arms. I bought the large and it fit how I wanted it to, which is on the tighter side. Leather will stretch as it breaks in so you want to go a bit small. I'm from the US, where as I understand it sizes can run slightly bigger than European. I typically wear a Large in most jackets, although there are plenty of Mediums that work for me. Usually the length of the arms is the deciding factor, and I like a nice slim fit. I was worried that I might want a Medium, but the L is perfect. The M would be too small. With the L I can still get a hoodie on underneath.

The only issue I can see, which I won't deduct a star for given the price, is that the leather is somewhat inconsistent in texture. For example, the leather is more "wrinkly" on the right forearm than on the right upper arm, and the opposite is happening on the left arm. I think that goes with the territory in this price range and it isn't very noticeable at all, although the creasing in the leather actually looks nicer where it is wrinkly. Hopefully as it breaks in that will all even out.

A couple notes, for US customers: This was shipped UPS Express and I got it in under a week, so that was nice especially for the low cost of shipping I was charged. Also, there is a VAT in the price that you first see on Amazon, but after you add to the cart and select a US shipping address, you can expect to see 40 pounds or so come off the price.

Also, it should go without saying at this price, but this jacket is for style, and not for abrasion resistance on a motorcycle. It is certainly windproof and warm, and riding with it is fine. Just don't expect it to hold up to a crash.

Ever so slightly small. I normally wear a medium(north face,Levi's) and bought the medium and it is slightly tight but leather stretches and looks better too small than too big and baggy. Good weight, heavy duty leather and nicely lined. Loads of pockets for all you gear, zipped pockets and cuffs with side buckles to adjust tightness. Great jacket, not a motorbike jacket tho, just styled like one.

Longer sleeves than expected

I ordered M and it was good fit except for sleeves, which were slightly too long, although I have relatively long arms.
Jacket itself is really cool and robust.
Some people in the reviews recommended taking one size up but I normally always wear M and in this case again M was good fit, L was way too large.
