To keep electric bill down they switched all the lights off
The series is better than the book but the viewing experience is totally ruined by the lighting. Even daytime scenes are way too dark. They've gone for a sinister mood but simply gone too far. Stopped watching after early scenes in episode three. Lack of visibility now too distracting. I reckon they've had their eON bill and decided to economise.

FREAKING BRILLAINT

I am absolutely astounded that one star reviews are left because of the lighting. I truly believe sometimes if you have nothing constructive to say then say nout.
This series has to be one of the best series I have ever watched. Chris Pratt was brillaint in his role and directing the series. Good storyline, good script, perfectly balanced over all and I persoanlly thought the lighting suited the mood of the series. It was full of action and surprising in many ways. I give it a 10/10!!!

A MUST WATCH!!!

Picture so dark it might as well be a radio play
With my brightness turned up 100% I still can’t see much. The picture is so dark this is unwatchable — I gave up trying halfway through episode 2.

Sure, it's not the most gripping, but a one star? Really?
Finding myself reviewing the reviews... Insert with and yawn emoji here. Sure there's better gripping and thrilling dramas. This is no Tinker, tailor, soldier, spy, but it is certainly not worthy of a one star review. Chris Pratt does seem to struggle with this serious role, without the odd bit of humour as we see in tomorrow's war, but the story is compelling. You are mentally tossed around wondering about your own recollections, did he do something or did he think he did, are we missing parts is this going to flip around and completely destroy our expectations of what is happening to the main character... Then I look at the reviews... The one star reviews, "it's too dark", what? They wish this was filmed in Vegas where the neon keeps everything well lit day or night, boo hoo "I'm sure if the lighting was better I could have watched beyond the 1st 3 episodes!!!" It's people like that who got Firefly cancelled!!! How can you rate a thing when you've only seen a 3rd of it?

Pratted!!
What an absolute piece of garbage this show is. Rrom the opening voice over, morosely dolling out a pained past, in true bible namedrop fashion, the direction script, editing and lighting are all sub par. The is a chap in the opening squad 'roundtable', who delivers his two lines without conviction then attempts to drink out of an empty water bottle, only to realise it's empty at his lips, so he blows a weak froth of spittle into it, awkwardly. Then some other monkey swaggers on to screen, swearing loudly for no aparant reason. The action is overly staged. Trained soldiers gladly jump into the path of enemy bullets.

And that is only the first 15 mins.

This is easily the worst big name tv show yet for Amazon. YOu need to fire the staff you have running Prime Video and hire people who have taste.
