I have purchased 5 or 6 pairs of Merrill shoes in the past and have always been very satisfied. These shoes were too small (width) as I have to wear a leg brace on one leg and a lift in the other shoe.

I had a pair of these that lasted 3 years. I walked all over Europe in them, so when I finally wore them out I ordered another pair of the same size. They were too small, so I exchanged them. They are so uncomfortable I donated them after giving them three weeks of use. I went to another brand. Sad- Merrell used to be good.

These do not fit at all like the old (original) Moab Ventilators. It seems like Merrell switched manufacturers.

The new fit is awful; the shoes now run very long (for their size), and if you go down a size they are too narrow. Switch to the wide option? Nope--rather than just being wider, the shoe is longer as well (not a true wide fit).

Where the hell is Merrell having these made now? Great shoe quality doesn't matter if the fit is awful. Sad to have to switch brands/styles after buying these for nearly a decade.

I love to spend time outdoors, rain or shine. Whether I'm hiking or fishing, I know as long as the water isn't ankle deep my feet are going to be dry. I've stood on rocks in streams for lengths of time fishing, I've stomped through mud and then hosed them off while still wearing them, I put these things through a ton of abuse. I leave them on a little loose unless I'm doing tough hiking, and wind up wearing away the back heal fabric around the same time that I've worn the tread out of the rubber. I'm putting a lot of miles in before that happens. With decent snow pants these have easily replaced any desire for winter boots while winter camping. Even with the front toe leather material cracking after a few too many miles, my last pair still stood up to some abuse in the water last weekend. I received another pair today, and they're what I've come to expect. Comfortable right off the bat, but needing a little bit of a break in before I take them on a serious hike. Big fan.

Wow, what in the hell happened to Merrell, they used to be my only hiking shoe that I would buy, could feel the amazingness of their shoes from the first time putting on a new pair, not so anymore, these are terrible, feel uncomfortable right away when putting on and actually hurt my feet at the end of a hike. I have heard some say that Merrell moved their operations to some other country and quality suffered, not sure about this but I have now tried several Merrells, specifically the moab 2's and even found some moab 1's on here and they have all been terrible. The original Merrell hiking shoe is the moab 1 so I thought I found what I was looking for when I got that only to be very disappointed as it felt the same as the 2. Ugh.

Runs small in length

Very good looking shoe, only problem was the size of the shoe. I read a bunch of reviews on these shoes and quite a few said they run small. So before ordering the shoes, I call Merrell Customer Service, and was suggested I order the size I normally wear, now I had just returned a pair of size 10 Merrell fst's, as they were not only a little short, buy also tight in toe box, I told cs rep. this, anyway I ordered my normal size 10 and my big toe is right at the end of shoe, so I'm returning them and ordering a 1/2 size larger 10.5. The toe box is roomy which is just right for me. I'm not a hiker, but I need fairly stiff soles due too big toe problem. Think these shoes are what I'm looking for if I can get sized right.
