Answer:
Yes, they are light. One shoe is 375 g compared to the hitecc walking shoe I was using which was 508 g. I have had them for several months, doing around 5k each day and they are not showing any wear. The laces supplied were only 125 cm long, not enough for a double knot. I replaced them with 140 cm laces.

If you're a serious runner you might need serious running shoes. I would say yes you can run in them, but for me I use them for long fast walks with the dog on all terrains, ie coastal path, woods, fields, hills, valley's, roads and footpaths, in all weathers. To be honest they are multi-functional, if your just going to use them for running then get running shoes would be my advice. Answer:
They have normal insole that comes out. I'd advise you to buy orthopaedic insole and replace the original one if he has flat feet.

Answer:
Always reluctant to give sizing info for shoes in particular where one size number covers both length of your foot and width, so take it as you will. If I was on the top end of an 8, ie for some shoes might be a 8.5 anyway then I would go for a 8.5 if just waring a normal thin sock. Vietnam I believe. Quality is good, most global shoe production is now there now as too expensive to produce in the West now.
