Your feet will get wet if it is raining as they are surfing shoes. Put news paper in them and put them in the sun or a airing cupboard...they will soon dry out.

I didn't at first and felt my feet were sore from friction, so I wear socks with them now. Personal preference I guess.

These are true to size for barefoot shoes. If you usually wear a 6 in barefoot shoes, get the 6.5 as the 5.5 will be slightly small. However if you usually wear a 6 in normal sneakers the 5.5 will probably be ok.

Male and female sizes are the same for adults a size 12 In a males shoes are the same size as a woman's shoes only ones that are different are kids sizes

I got a 5 and I am also techniaclly a 4.5. I found that size to be perfect for me.
