Buy it when it's on offer. At the moment it's only £37!!! That's £4 more than the standard 4K Fire stick. Hardly a hefty price hike, more like a few pennies.

The firestick is multi band .Wifi6 is as well as the existing bands ,not instead of , mine is on TalkTalk router and connection is excellent .

It’s faster all round, somewhat future proof in the short term with support for the faster WiFi but needs a few updates like most new apps.

Amazon offer a trade-in deal so that you can send them back your existing Fire stick (be sure to reset to factory defaults first - Amazon provide instructions for that) and you get a discount off your new one.

Need is a strong word. The answer is you probably don't *need* one, but it would probably improve your viewing experience and give you access to more apps/channels than your TV. So you might *want* one!
