Once on they are comfortable and do the job nicely, certainly the only swim shoes that I have ever managed to get on without tearing a hole in the material in the attempt. So on that basis I recommend these for wider/high volume feet. I wouldn't hike for miles in them and would still take extreme care on algae covered rocks, but they are pretty good on the beach and around the pool and drain nicely after getting soaked whilst still retaining reasonable grip on slippy poolside surfaces and feel on rougher surfaces. I don't go wild swimming that often so can't really comment on whether they hold up for long term use on rougher terrain. see less I have very wide feet and a high instep that mean I usually need to buy specialist EEE or 4E/8E trainers so I bought a size up and replaced the bungee laces with longer laces but otherwise they have stretched nicely to accommodate my feet without too much cussing to get them on. Answer:
A: No. There is always a chance your feet can slip off a pedal and drag along the ground, or worse get stuck between pedal and ground. These shoes would offer little protection as they are too lightweight. I would use a more robust shoe for any cycling because your feet are always a bit vulnerable.
