I went for a size up for this reason based on my previous merrell boots. My feet are much happier at the end of a long hike. So yes I would go for a size up

It does as well as any other boot not equipped with or suitable for crampons. OK in snow, not bad on ice, but if you are going high into the snowline this is not the boot for you.

Yes they would. I bought them for my wife and she would happily say they are the most comfortable walking boots she has ever had. She has worn them for 6 hours multiple days and covered many kilometres in them with no spots or complaints.

Yes they would. I bought them for my wife and she would happily say they are the most comfortable walking boots she has ever had. She has worn them for 6 hours multiple days and covered many kilometres in them with no spots or complaints.

One caveat is that we haven’t been above the snow line in them so we can’t vouch for winter or higher altitude usage but would assume you would be looking at a different spec if you were intending usage over 3000metres.

I bought a size four in these Merrell Moab hiking boots. I usually wear a shoe size three - therefore I think it's safe to say they come up as a small fit. However, they are extremely comfortable to wear and once worn out I would buy the same make again.

Water resistant, yes. Waterproof, so far, yes. However if you go tramping through burns and rivers, no. They're not made for that. The tongue and laces are pretty resistant, but too much or too deep, and water will eventually get in.

I have used these for walking on icy pavements and unfortunately they do not grip very well in those conditions. It's a shame as these are brilliant otherwise.
