Hi, thanks for the question. The size 9.5 was created as an in-between size, which is smaller than the size 10/11 but larger than the size 8/9. It's not meant to be a size "8.5/9.5". It should fit size 9.5 feet just fine, but too large for size 8.5 feet. If you normally wear size 8.5 in shoes you should get our size 8/9.

I'm generally a 9.5 and it was a snug fit for me. If you're a genuine size 10 then a 9.5 may be tight.
