Yes laces need tying. I would not recommend these trainers for autistic person as they are very frustrating to get on.

I don’t know Bought them for my nephew.
My son also has autism I bought some black and white Velcro ones and they’re very soft so my sons sensory is incredibly important to him so that actually helped.
