Yes. I wore mine on the Inca Trail and it rained throughout the second day. Other members of the group complained about wet feet. My feet remained dry.

First pair leaked at toes eventually where the sole began to split away. 2nd pair have started leaking through goretex on top of toes. Only recently asked what maintenance on the boots should be and was surprised to learn I should be using cleaning liquid in the water when they are very muddy, then drying and using Re-proofing spray regularly (not sure how regularlyJj)) The goretex is Not the main waterproof part, that is a membrane below the Goretex layer and the goretex layer protects, this lower membrane apparently. This was all news to me. I have loved my Merrill boots as they fit perfectly, lightweight yet supportive and good grip. I intend to take better care of this third pair, but, in truth, I think 4 years is not a huge replacement interval as I walk about 50k a week on average. Niqwax is the recommended Re-proofing spray I am planning to use. I have tried it on my old boots but as I have presumably allowed my membranes to deteriorate, I was not altogether surprised that it has only partially worked. Hope you can benefit from my experience. see less I am about to buy my 3rd pair. Had last two pairs for about 4 years apiece. Water resistant, yes. Waterproof, so far, yes. However if you go tramping through burns and rivers, no. They're not made for that. The tongue and laces are pretty resistant, but too much or too deep, and water will eventually get in.

Once treated with a waterproof repellent spray they keep my feet pretty dry when out walking but ‘no’ they are not waterproof.

I have just started wearing the pair I bought a few months ago, used in rain/drizzle/mizzle on Bodmin Moor and feet stayed dry while walking over wet grass. However I wouldn't walk through puddles etc in them. Hope that helps

NO! They are not. I’ve sent mine back. Advertised as Gortex waterproof but 2 mornings walking through wet (short) grass and wet feet on both occasions. This is complete misrepresentation

Yes these are waterproof. They are also very comfortable. I have enjoyed walking hundreds of miles in them so far. Would definitely recommend.

Yes, they are, but I spray them also after a good clean with water proof spray to keep them that way, they are really comfortable
