The one photo with a partially open zip that shows there is no liner/membrane , so how can this be windproof? Advertised as good for mountaineering?

The material seems to be reasonably windproof even without the lining. As a gardener I where mine every day and often in very windy conditions, I can honestly say that this jacket is worth the price and is fairly windproof. however, I do usually wear a jumper underneath so my judgement maybe slightly off as obviously the more layers, the less you feel the wind anyhow...

I also bought this as a Christmas present the recepitent is a serious walker and was happy with the weight and features. His only concern is how it will was and if it will last as it's not a brand he is familiar with..... yet.
