In my head, I was imagining this to be a glorious cork case which exuded comfort and was a pleasure to use. The reality is that it is a plastic piece of tat that I'm amazed is retailing for more than £5.
Yes, it has cork on it: A thin sliver of cork which doesn't even feel like cork. The whole case feels mostly plastic. This also means it is not comfortable to hold as the edges are thin lines of plastic -- you don't feel the cork. It's softer / easier to hold the Kindle by itself.
This is really disappointing, as back in the day, the Kindle cases were really good and comfortable! The quality has dropped horrifically with the pricing increasing.

After having a basic kindle + fabric case for about two years, I decided to upgrade. The fabric case is great and significantly better value for money, but I just felt like getting something a bit different.The cork case is light, and looks like it will keep the kindle safe from light bumps and scratches. However, it doesn't quite feel like cork and I imagine is treated with some sort of plastic coating to keep it from deteriorating too quickly. Additionally while the kindle sits in the case firmly, it does not quite snap into place like my old fabric one does, so I don't know that a hard drop wouldn't cause it to dislodge itself. You can see there is a slight gap between the kindle and the case.Otherwise it looks really good, and I think the dark colour suits the black of the kindle. Hopefully it lasts as well as my fabric case, which despite some minor frayed edges is still working just fine.

Colour Name: LightVerified Purchase
I read and saw some unfavorable reviews regarding this product. These prompted me to cancel my order however I thought I'd give Amazon the benefit of the doubt and I reordered it. I'm pleased I did. I personally like the look and feel of the Cork. I'm not sure how those critical expect it to feel. I also find the plastic surround on the back which has been criticised adds beneficial protection. My new Kindle and case have met my expectation and done exactly what I wanted. The tactile feel makes me want to and enables me to read far more.
