I was massively disappointed with this movie. It most certainly is NOT the Guy Richie we have all come to love, admire & respect……I expected something way more intelligent, smooth & polished. I have probably watched lock-stock alone 100 times. I am a massive fan of Mr Richie, I believed, until 15 minutes ago that he is one of thee most unique directors we have titillating our senses. & I’m always excited to be twisted & torqued into submission by his next thrill ride. But 10 minutes into this movie I was actually considering just doing the dishes that were sitting in my sink…….. For ten minutes I kept thinking nah, the bad acting is meant to be so, & this is part of the plot. & any minute now we are going to see what we all came to see ‘The great Mr Richie at work’. But sadly this wasn’t the case. The bad acting continued from everyone, including the underrated Mr Donovan. The acting was more like what you would expect from new kids on the Hollywood block, that over think their roles, & thus, over act their lines, eager to be noticed. But these actors are meant to be seasoned pros..are any of them Joaquin Phoenix, Nicholson, D Washington, Hopkins, D.D Lewis or even Cruise? NO of course not, but they are better than their performances in this movie. & that’s just for starters. Nothing gelled, it all felt rushed & disconnected.
This is what the whole movie felt like to me.
On Saturday morning Guy, woke up in his pink silk boxers at 6am with an idea! 💡he got straight on his laptop, 💻 wrote a script, 📜had some coffee, ☕️Called some mates, 👯‍♂️& said (in a high pitched excited voice) “ I’ve got a great idea!🤪meet me at my bank, & on the way can you pick up some pizza 🍕 some guns (long ones) some bulletproof vests (they’re got-a-be black Jason, I know we like pink, but today everything has gotta be black) except your favourite light tan shoes, as your gunna need them for some burrito shots 😁& when you’ve done all that, bring 4 armoured cars to the bank, coz I'm gunna make a new movie………& I’m gunna have to draw out what little money Madonna has left me wiv! Coz it’s gunna be BIG!!! Got it? 🚗 {beep beep Richie} & by the Sunday morning, as the sun rose over the Hollywood hills studio, WRATH OF MAN was complete. & all was good in the world. & yep it was a little good in 2 places. But it should have been GREAT!!! With all the ingredients, the cast, the crew, the MONEY which probably was Mr Richies. This movie should have been a thrill ride. I do not know what has happened, but clearly Mr Richie is not hungry to create the best he can create anymore. To me he was like GOD! Creating wonderful works of movie art. YES watch it, coz you’ve got to, otherwise it will bug you if you don’t. But for me, a girl who usually watches his movies over & over. I won’t bother to watch this one again. & that is the most disappointing & sad thing about this movie, unlike lock-stock, snatch & revolver, that you can watch over & over & over, & still discover something new that you missed the last 12 times you watched it, WRATH OF MAN is not one of those movies. My dad always used to say to me “quit while your ahead!” Wise words that Mr Richie could have done with hearing, if only he’d called his dad that fateful Saturday morning, instead of calling Mr Statham. & on that note’ I still have washing up to do, but I think I will be putting Revolver on to watch while I do, as I sure couldn’t stomach another dose of unleashed testosterone. I will just say this’ if your a 15 year old lad, your probably gunna love it. If your an adult looking for the usual intellectual property from Guy Richie, then you are going to be as disappointed as I am right now…….sorry Guy, but you didn’t blow the bloody doors off in this one. F yes I know that is not a quote from a Richie movie.

As far as Statham movies go, pretty good

Overall a good experience, satisfying action sequences, really good revenge plot, mostly good acting. If you're looking for a wordy, thought-provoking experience this is probably not the one, but a good watch nonetheless. Not much in the way of comic relief like there was in The Gentlemen, though.
More depth than the Statham movies we're used to, but perhaps less so when it comes to Guy Ritchie films. Though I can say, it is slightly different to his usual style of directing and it's nice to see his style shine through in a thematically much darker story.

I found this movie as one of the best movies I've seen in a while as its great to see, Stalham & Guy Ritchie working together again. I would say that this is the best work that these two have done since they done, SNATCH together, all those years ago. If you like, Jason Statham, you really need to give this one a look, I thoroughly enjoyed it

is a 2021 heist action thriller film directed by Guy Ritchie, from a script he co-wrote with Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies, and is loosely based on the 2004 French film Cash Truck by Nicolas Boukhrief. It is Ritchie's fourth directorial collaboration with lead actor Jason Statham, and first since Revolver (2005). Statham stars as H, a new cash truck driver in Los Angeles whose thwarting of a robbery leads to his skillset with guns and mysterious past being questioned. Holt McCallany, Jeffrey Donovan, Chris Reilly, Josh Hartnett, Laz Alonso, Raúl Castillo, DeObia Oparei, Eddie Marsan and Scott Eastwood also star.

Wrath of Man was released in several countries on April 22, 2021, and in the United States on May 7. The film has grossed $104 million worldwide and received mixed reviews from critics upon release, who praised the action sequences but criticized the plot.

A sold action flick with safe hands Jason Statham. I enjoyed it shame I never got a chance to see it on the big screen as with post Pandemic films it by passed cinema release and went straight to Amazon Prime in the UK.

I know few Hollywood or film names, I seldom recognise actors, and far far rarer still is producers or directors, but Guy Ritchie, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - how can you not? Or Snatch?

I love both of these films (and for anyone wondering my leaning is towards Snatch but it's really hard to say) and I love them because they show weird perspectives of something going wrong, so I had expectations that were perhaps too high. So it's a tossup between "it's OK [with those 2 films in mind]" or "it's good" without Ritchie's name attached.

I did enjoy it, watched it all in one sitting but I do have some slight annoyances which for some reason I felt strongly enough to write about, I'll delve into those now, I wouldn't say they spoil it but they could count.

This is like a Scooby Doo cartoon, you know where you have the "decoy badguy" who is an ass and has motive but didn't actually do it and the nice guy you "don't suspect" did it. It's like that. It's also a bit like a poor man's "man on fire" - one "you'll get more justice in a day from him than you'll get in a year" was practically said, except really weirdly.

So our "hero" is actually a bank robber or crime boss or Bond Villian-turned-good-guy (I don't actually know) with "FBI contacts" that basically gives him list of people who are right wronguns but the FBI can't touch. This isn't brought up again really in the film.

Our main character heads up this auxiliary network with men devoted to him through fear and/or presumably decent pay who'll kill for him without question, not turn on him, and never show up later on in the film.

There's also the egregious "body-armour" and the inability for any character (EXCEPT our main character in the middle - later he also misses everything) to hit a target - but it does deserve more than 3 stars.

It's not Lock Stock and it's not Snatch but it was something I watched through to the end with my full attention even if the ending was a bit (okay really) bad.

There are no moral dilemmas or big revelations. Just a movie about a brick-faced guy seeking revenge. It's not John Wick, Equaliser or The Nobody but it's still worth a watch with prime if you are bored.
