I wanted a thick, cosy pair of sock for under my new ankle boots and these are perfect.
They are THICK and warm. They have a minimal seam and wash really well.
I also wear them with my hiking boots, very comfortable
I added a pic as I was not too sure of how high they went up the leg. Hope this helps others.

I ordered these because I wanted warmer socks for work. I was pleased when they arrived (they have wool in them so that was a good start). They are the same length as the usual short socks but a little thicker, really comfortable and very warm. No painful seams either.
THIS IS AN UPDATE AFTER WASHING THE SOCKS: After wearing these socks for one day and washing them per the instructions, they have gone bobbly, which is very disappointing. For some reason they pick up a lot of fluff too. However, they are still very soft and warm so if worn under boots so that they are not seen, they are fine.

I first purchased these socks in January. They were great and were WHAT THEY SAID THEY WERE. Made of wool, thick, cosy. warm. The genuine article. Nice packaging too. I even wrote a great review of them. So I ordered the SAME AGAIN! I had to wait over 2 weeks to get them.. and guess what? They were COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! NO WOOL CONTENT (I CAN TELL) AND plus the packaging had changed completely and they had Chinese writing all over them. Looked and were completely different! The first lot had a soft rim at the top (which is great and doesn't pinch the ankle, these ones are cheap and tight). What a scam. I have contacted the seller to complain. Haven't heard back. What a bore to have to trudge them down to the nearest returns depot or whatever. Am now a disappointed customer but was at first a happy one. Again, the first order was so great that I re-ordered. But beware is all I can say.

As for my work I sit and drive a desk in a building that does not know what insulation is let alone having ever seen it - my feet were feeling the affects of being very cold and cold feet make for a miserable person.
I bought these and another, different set on prime in desperation. Thank goodness I did. Whilst it would be good if they came up a little higher - the main reason to purchase was to keep feet warm and they do - really well. And not in an over-warm - feet getting sweaty, way. No, just toasty and comfortable, thank you very much. They also stand up well to walking boots and wellies - they don't slip down and create uncomfortable lumps under your feet when walking (and I walk for miles with the dog). Brilliant - now I'm not cold and miserable, the people I work with are happier too :)

Hard to believe they had wool in them as they we’re thick but no warmer than bed socks. Too short - only just above ankle - and very tight around the top leaving deep marks. Waste of money

I do love these socks. They're the comfiest things I've ever owned. However, I wouldn't say they're the warmest. I always have cold feet and I bought these especially because I work in a warehouse. I can't notice much difference then your average cotton socks. Maybe they should take out the word 'thermal'?
