mixed up scifi mess
Verified purchase
lots of mixed up sci-fi themes ripped off and mashed up together.

no real plot except the they want to kill the dragon from never ending story but then they don't but then they do? and they care about the crew but then they don't but then someone mutinies? and someone doesn't and then someone gets infested with an alien parasite but it has no real link the plot and he kills some people and then? wtf?

just watch never ending story and the expanse instead

Terrible production.

The special effects are actually OK, the acting is actually OK, the set designs and the overall photography of the movie is OK.

The story, plot and pace of the movie is just disjointed and terrible. The "story" was very difficult to follow, and felt like it had been cut and edited down from something else. Whoever wrote the script, edited and produced this movie need to seek other careers.

I gave it two stars because the people responsible for the photography, set designs, special effects, and the actors themselves, deserve some compensation for working on this awful movie, but please don't waste your time watching this. Its terrible.

It has a Sequel. unreal

What an absolutely bizarre ScFi into pirates into space aliens.
The story lacks foundations and directions, other than its in out space.
CGi is actually really good however the actors are a mismatch with insights and multiple stabbings afoot.
There are bugs and aliens afoot but too many puzzles still in the foundations.
There appears to be a sequel in the making which might resolve some of the anomalies.
There should be an adults rating on Prime films, defiantly not recommended to teens who can be easily influenced for the wrong reasons.

Film never really gets your attention, premises is good, has all the possibilities but it's like a half baked cake, outside looks good but when you cut into it it's just fall apart.
Characters are not really developed, you don't feel connected with no one, the only thing in the movie that you connect to is the space whale and not because of the director. Not even that he construct it well. The film is so weird that the only person you get some emotion towards is the cook for her loss at the end and that is just because we are not senseless towards her badly constructed story.

Wooden and I don't care about any of the characters
Verified purchase
The script is bad, the acting is wooden. I didn't care about any of the characters. In fact when they later decided to go after the mythical space creature (a magnificent beast that deserves awe and respect rather than humans hunting it with a harpoon) - I hoped that all the characters would die first. I stopped watching about halfway through the movie as life is too short. This movie irritated and bored me in equal measure and I hoped that all the characters would die instead as I disliked all of them.

Moby Dick in Space
Verified purchase
Was expecting a dodgy rip off movie, the sort of thing that turns up on Syfy , but a low budget film that is very good. The visual effects are great and the story has elements of Moby Dick and does not try to hide it. Not original but entertaining and good quality all round.

oby dick brought into the 21st century

A good Sci Fi film which is based on the old story of captain AHAB and the whale, IE Moby Dick, so nothing new but a 21st century rewrite, watchable if you are a bit bored, everything is mediocre from acting to script

With all the low ratings I was expecting something that looked clunky

......but it didn't. Looked very nice actually so the production didn't distract. As others have said it was Moby Dick with a bit of Firefly (the bad bits) but adding to that there was some that reminded me of Dark Matter..... which in my books improved it a lot.

In many respects it wasn't developed enough as there were too many things missing from the story. Too many questions and not enough time to do the explaining. That made it feel like a pilot for a TV series of course that could not happen.
