not funny stereotyping that wouldn't be allowed if the roles were reversed.

This isn't a funny film when you take into consideration the subject matter. If the premise of this film were reversed and white people played black characters in makeup this wouldn't be on Amazon Prime in 2020.

I esspecially enjoyed the plot bit where they couldn't cover up a scratch on a lip with makeup but managed to cover up a black dude :D

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I just think it is so funny and I end up howling all way through it. If you ever feel down and have not seen this, buy it or rent it, I'll guarantee you'll soon feel better!

Funny but not as good as I remembered

Back when I watched this as it first came out I thought it was brilliant. To turn these two black guys into white women I though was amazing. It is still very well done, even with the small imperfections that could be ironed out now with improved CGI.
The thing I thought they didn't get at all right was their eyes, they looked robotic and it ruined it a little for me. Having said that, the performance by the Wayans brothers, Shawn as Kevin/Brittany and Marlon as Marcus/Tiffany, was very funny, though silly in places, and I think they partly pulled it off. The fact that these two black guys pulled any part of it off was down to some energetic acting and a make up department, that for the time, pulled out all the stops. 18 years later I think they would have made a better job of the transformation, especially, as I have said, those eyes.
I also loved Terry Crews who's character Latrell Spencer who was intent on marrying Tiffany! He played it with humour and was himself quite funny.
Oh by the way, I've got to say that as a fair skinned and blonde mixed raced female, and I am not offended by anything that happened within the film. There were, what some might call racist words and comments both ways through the film, things that wouldn't have got through now, but they were funny and lacked any type of venom.
Overall I think it was a great idea, perhaps a little rushed, and it was fairly well done, still funny and unusual enough to be worth a watch.

Best Movie of 2004

This movie is one of the funniest films I have watched, I watched this movie back in 2004 and was laughing my arse off, re-watching it today makes me realise that this movie just ages like a fine wine, going back to an era of comedies which cannot be topped today, I like to re-watch this movie every year, and COVID-19 has helped me get a closer understanding of the deeper meaning of the film, overall this is an actual enjoyable experience and the funny scene with famed actor Terry Crews when he wakes up with the bloke in the bed after taking some illegal narcotics is very funny.

Not funny at all - just stupid
Verified purchase
There are two types of comedies: stupid funny and funny funny (where good and intelligent sense of humour is used). For all those with a very good sense of humour I recommend to not waste your time as the movie is just stupid, not funny at all...

Agree with some other one star ratings... that if it was the other way around - it would have been considered racist.... and that the girls' scratches was more difficult to cover up than changing two black guys into white girls.... anyway... hashtag stupid! (sorry, no idea where hashtags on MACs are hidden).

White Chicks, fun but flat.

Terry Cruz is the highlight of this whole film, without him this would just be terrible.
The villain was not threatening or memorable, the whole thing was a patina to have the Wayans brothers imitating Bad Boys then dress up and impersonate terribly annoying white chicks and that's fine, that's just fine. Right?

You could watch a mash-up of best moment on Youtube and save yourself about an hour and a half.

Laughs all the way

Although I am a fan of some Wayons brothers movies, I wasn't expecting too much from this one. However I was pleasantly surprised. If you can get past the fact the two main characters don't look quite right when in disguise its a really funny film from start to finish with plenty of laugh out loud moments. Well worth a watch.
